I’m in the same boat (nbtevo v20153i) and already have CarPlay but want to make it full screen.

Do I still need to flash the firmware to get to X/Y? What are the options for this?

Yes, you will need to flash the NBT firmware using E-sys to version X or above. You can then code Fullscreen CarPlay on using either E-sys or something like BimmerCode.

well that would be great but I am not getting new issues, I reloaded the 240GB database again. and followed each step,

1. connected to car via VIN and brings up my F16 model and correct shipment I-step
2. new I read the FA and saved as FA order
3. then I read and saved the SVT as SVT_ist
4. next I did calculate under SVT Target the KIS calculate using shipment I-step and newest it showed. F025-18-03-540 shipment and target of F025-22-11-510 (also tried it with an older I-step 22-07-540).
saved that file as SVT_soll
5. next further down under TAL, I tried to TAL calculation and get this error.
generating TAL failed (C041)
DetailInfo must not me null for ECU ECUId:ICAM_0x06 [1608].

I am using an Emet cable is that the issue?

FA Null is VIN issue. You must select "Vin from FA", then hit Read FA, and then Execute TAL.

Do exactly:

1) Read FA
2) Select Read VIN our of FA & "Read VIN"
3) Then do all of the ECU Selects - blflash...
4) Do the Check Software
5) Then select the "Read VIN out of FA" which greys out the "Enter VIN"
6) Then do the Start...

Those steps above all assume I am getting to the Expert pages to load the files but I cannot get that far. I'm starting to wonder if god doesn't want my system messed with. I cannot follow your steps if I cannot generate a TAL file hence I cannot even get off the comfort page. As I said above I always get error failure generating TAL file. That is the hang up claiming null data. until I can find a way to generate a TAL file I am sunk. what is weird is I did get to step 18 before I reloaded the psdzdata file. is this not possible related to some setting in the configuration, or to allow flashing using Enet cable?

Error is for ICAM. Are you flashing ICAM?

no I am using Enet cable. but only get as far as step 10 to create TAL file that is why I was wondering if something is set wrong in my Esys files to make it think I am using Icam not enet but I cannot find anything in the configure files or the setting?

If you are not flashing ICAM, then delete ICAM from svt_ist, and then calculate svt_soll, and then TAL.

ok edited _ist and tried to delete the ICAM entry (just one line) and also tried to replace with ESYS. both failed to load as new error says missing ecu connection bus.

is there another place in esys to turn off ICAM completely?

I edited it with notepad, so I think that was the error. I just generated a new file and tried to use the SVT editor but same now says this file in missing ECU data or was generated on a different car. so it seems I cannot find a way to edit this file which has the reference to ICAM. Man I am a retired IT guy and this is very crazy stuff. my newly generate SVT is attached. since I don't know what is the best way to edit and I am not certain which lines to delete. I pass it to you, but since it only seems to load when I read the file, not sure how to get to point B.

I'm losing my mind now I don't even see a reference to ICAM in this file but it seems shorter to than last one. its way to hot and I am very tired as I have been at this for hours in 90 degree heat in garage. can try again tomorrow. one issue with my F16 is even with lights one car seems to shut down when ever it wants. so I have to keep starting over. But the errors trying to generate a TAL file it was one 100%.

I just must be missing something ...

ok will do in am. but the svt file posted is the original I just downloaded using esys before I quit. I have the saved FA on my laptop in garage but it's dinner time.

I can delete all and redo the process one more time which allows me only to read/save SVT_ist, SVT_soll and FA_factory file.

Is svt_ist manipulated in any way? I get numerous errors loading it.

What E-Sys version are you using?

here are new zipped files for all three I can create zip right on the laptop then sent, not opened or email just zipped.

It isn't. Open svt_ist in Notepad and search on CID. All 3 are missing.

yeah I don't see any CID but then again I don't have a clue what that even means. I gather it is suppose to be there, so what can cause that issue.

strange that I got past this step before, should I just delete the entire installation and reinstall Esys again?

that will be the 3rd time. but as I say it did one time get to step 18 and gave the only module to update as DME.
