So I've downloaded the file from OP's Google Drive. What do I need to do next?

Unpack it, copy to the flash drive, connect to your armrest USB drive, enter the code, give it time to copy new maps. Done.

Thanks! Worked fine. I'm a Mac user with a lifetime FSC Code from my last update and here's what worked for me:

1. formatted a 64GB USB drive using Mac Disk Utility to MS DOS (FAT) format. Tried EXFAT and didn't work for me.

2. Downloaded update to a temporary map folder I created on my desktop.

3. Extracted the .rar file using "The Unarchiver" extractor application to my temp folder I created. That resulted in a folder inside my temp folder called "ROAD_MAP_NORTH_AMERICA_NEXT_2020-1" Inside that folder are four folders numbered 1, 2, 3, 4 and three other files (.nfm, .pkg, and .sig).

3. I then copied the four numbered folders and three files (not their parent folder "ROAD_MAP.....") to my USB drive.

4. I cleaned my USB drive with CleanMyDrive2 application to removed hidden files mac creates.

5. Activated Nav system without starting the vehicle. Plugged USB into port inside console. It recognized update was available. Started update, it took about 25-30 minutes. That was it. This is my second map update since acquiring the vehicle. It didn't prompt me for my FSC code but I have it. Maybe since I entered it the last time I updated?

Out of curiosity, what is the reason you use the car navigation instead of Google maps? I prefer the live traffic and much more frequent updates of Google. I never use the on-board BMW nav.

Get a lifetime code from eBay. They cost about $10. It will make installation so much easier. PM and I can direct you to seller from who I got the code.

Google or wave often direct me to side street or residential area to cut a minutes or two but I prefer more on the main street when I am not in a hurry.

A couple of reasons, cellular fades in and out where I live. I don't like google knowing so much about what I'd do. Apple Maps are pretty good for single destinations but not multiple. Plus it uses data.

I pay for traffic and it reroutes accordingly. The screen is larger than even a big phone.

To each his own, of course.

Road Map NORTH AMERICA EVO 2017-2. I just got my car back from the dealer and they upgraded my i level to NBTevo_U but did not update my maps. If I am supposed to get 3 years free where do I get that from?

Do you need all 4 of the files provided plus the other 3? The reason I ask is because I currently only have a 16gb flash drive. Can I load files 1, and 2 then put 3 and 4 on separately?

I was able to download all of the files, but for the life of me I could not get the correct fsc code with the code generator. I followed the instructions exactly. I could not extract the file from the car needed to generate the correct fsc code. I ended up going on ebay and paying $20 for a code. Uploaded the 2020 next maps perfectly.

Note for Mac Users that aren't geeky enough, I barely figured this out. Download "clean my drive" and "the unarchiver" for free on the App Store.

Disk Utility is built into the Mac just use your magnifying glass and search for it.

This was easier than expected, two hours all in for downloads and configuring but got it first time. Thank you all for your help.
