Imho, the 6WB looks cheap/pixelated and The dials are too small. That was the first thing I wasn't happy about when picked up my 2018 F16.

It went pretty unoticed but i saw that the current (soon old) 6WB from 4 series gran coupe has better resolution than the one from a 2017 X5 F15. Somehow nobody looked into that or noticed it. I have 6WB and would like to up the resolution a bit (have 2016 with idrive 5.0 which has a newer screen to the X5 with high res which makes the 6wb lower res even more visible - also the delay is obvious).

Yep, I much prefer the "all black" analogue cluster. Not only is this one pixelated but the needles also have lag and low refresh.

Would change mine in a heartbeat if it wasn't such a process and made a car basically unsellable later.

If you don't like 6WB so much just get 6WA from Ebay, 5 minutes installation and once you ready to sell the car just put 6WB back in.

I got my virginized 6WB from eBay. My 6WB looks nice and not pixelated. No delay in anything and works great. Have had it over 2 years now with no issues.

If it is not virginized and you plug it in you will get a tamper light. It’s a red circle on the center bottom left, next to the ODO. Anyone sees that and they’ll know that your 6WB is from another car.

The seller I got mine from does not have anymore available, sorry guys.

You will just need to get it coded to your VIN when you swap it in. I went with steve@codemybimmer who was excellent and can do it remotely for you at a reasonable price. In terms of putting in your old cluster back in - I believe this can be done as the cluster is still programmed to your VIN and should get all it’s info from the ECU once you put it back in, but not 100% sure.

you might have a defective one. The 6WB on mine is not pixelated and the movement of the needle is very smooth. If anything, I prefer it to the gauge of the G05. It has more of a matt vs glossy look, which matches well with the graphics on the center iDrive screen.

I’m thinking the people complaining about the pixelated look/lag must have the older version(s) of the 6WB. I have the latest one (circa 2017/18) and it is not pixelated/laggy at all.

I am not sure tbh, if someone can make a photo/video of the laggy/pixelated one, because mine is perfectly fine too.
