Right?! Who had the thought "I want my $85000 SUV to sound more like a high school kids Honda Civic with a cheap muffler"?

I think "a little nice and sporty" and "Honda civic with a fart can" are two vastly different things. Mine sounds nice and sporty, to my ears and several other pairs, and about as different from a fart-can Civic as an SR-71 at full afterburner.

Muffler Delete Sound Clip

This is the best muffler delete cold start clip I've seen thus far. The sound on this is amazing!

Probably sounds good on paper but the drone must be terrible. Sounds like full straight pipe with no resonators

I read through some of his comments and he mentioned that there was no drone. Now how true it is, is debatable but that might be subjective.

Sounds like a rear muffler delete with no x-pipe.

You'd still have to do some custom work on the tips, since the non-M exhausts all place the tips in the corners and the M is more towards the middle. For the same amount of work and less $ in parts, we've got a sound that's more pleasing to my ears.

I've decided to just paint the stocks instead. I'm gonna have it in getting a bunch of other stuff done so it'll be pretty easy. Now I'm just worried about whether the ultra quiet resonators will be TOO quiet. I want to hear some loud growl (especially at startup) with minimal drone. Hopefully I made the right choice! 👍🏻

In the first "version" of mine I used the Vibrant bottle-style resonators at the back on both sides. It was too loud and drone-y, especially in parking ramps like where I park at home. Would have been great for a coupe that I just drove on weekends, but I felt like it was out of character for a luxury SUV.

Finally got my car back from the shop and I'm loving the result. I ended up going with the Vibrant 1792's and just painted my exhaust tips. No drone at all and it’s even a little quite until I open it up.. then all hell breaks loose.

Thanks! It was ultimately one of your posts that made me decide to use the bottle style resonators.. and I'm really glad that I did.

OK just an update after taking a road trip today. It turns out there is a bit of drone around 1200-1500 RPM. It's still not too bad but anyone considering this mod should test at that speed if possible.
