The US is just purely lacking the F1 experience and relevance. The politicians and organizers in US seem to flop left and right. The ONLY F1 race i couldnt watch in HD this year was the US GP, and i live here lol. Xfinity/ESPN/F1 flopped, Miami tracks keep flopping, and now politicians.....

I am a local here and the new Hardrock Stadium proposed track doesn't resonate any Miami vibes. It is surrounded by small homes with not a building in near sight. The huge amount of neighboring homes are complaining. The sky view will be one of the most boring on the calendar, unless they show the city that is 15 miles away.... I will be happy to see it here, and the actual track looks okay, but just hugely dissatisfied with the politics and management

Should have come to Oak Hill or Samsula...hell anywhere. Too many opinions. I just want another race in the US.

I live here and the people that say they don't want it are the same people are happy with the dollars it generates. It's just a bunch of Karen's that have no clue what F1 is and want their 15 minutes of fame.

The rest of us can't wait!!!!!!

I liken that to NIMBY's. They buy a house beside an airport or track or some other industrial area and just complain to it closes then they complain when the money it generated disappears.

Ticket prices are nuts and the fact it's on Mother's Day doesn't make it easy to find someone to go with. I may have to watch the race from home even though it's 45 min up the road.

Man I hope the Montreal GP isn't this expensive, otherwise it would probably be a no go for me. I also didn't expect a race in NA to be this expensive, especially since F1 isn't a huge sport up here.

Last I was in Miami it was the most expensive place in US (hi Ocean Drive) so no chance of a ticket on the gate I guess.

What sort of prices are the tickets for Miami? I suspect it might be similar to Silverstone in the UK?

I've been a fair few times for free as I used to get corporate tickets but never paid yet. Why well its almost as cheap to fly to Barcelona for the weekend as just the tickets plus stands and camping in the UK its THAT expensive.

For the race you are looking at 1k for a single ticket, which is nuts. Of course that depends on location, and that was for a main straight seat.

A reminder of the exclusivity of this sport.

Totally agree, and its the hot ticket here as its the first race. I was even willing to splurge on Paddock Club tickets for the entire weekend at the official F1 retail price of ~3k. After 40 years of watching F1, I've never been to a race before. No way am I paying the 8k that they are going for now. I'm going to Qualy and may also go to FP1 and FP2. I'd go to the race but I rather see it on TV to be honest as its easier to follow.

Austin race was expensive last year. Previous years not so much. I ended up not being able to go on Sunday, Sat night sold two tickets on main straight for $2.5k. This years race in Oct is already sold out for Sat and Sun. Cheapest ticket(GA) for Sun starts at $500+ on second hand sites.

Man that's a bargain vs. the US races.

Well I don't mind watching it on tv, I like the commentary.

Ugh I just looked this years' event up and the cheapest race day ticket is £714 so it's not such a bargain now, F1 ticket inflation has gone through the roof or more realistically to the moon

I'd have to disagree. Gordon Murray was of course the OG. I really liked Hobbs, Varsha and Matchet but not a huge fan of Crofty. I really only like DiResta because of his accent lol. Karun is ok.

Toto hinting that Miami might be the first race where development/upgrades are used.

If there is no real or meaningful improvements, we can pretty count Mercedes out this year. They are quickly running out of time and resources for them to make an error on their first upgrade of the season.
