Has anyone with an N63TU had this happen, having their DME locked at the dealership after a software update? That would severely suck.

I wasn't able to used my bootmod3 licence after our F15 X5 35i was updated by the dealer.
I was told by bootmod3 that update was not yet cracked and I was refunded for my licence as I had not yet flashed/unlocked the DME it yet.

Very disappointing

FYI the I-level dealership update version you DON'T want is F025-19-03-550

Can you tell me where to find this info so I can have a look before making a purchase.

Thanks

What mods do you have? Does the custom tune blow the RC GTS black out of the water? I'm currently tuned with the RC GTS black.

The truck came with MPPK when i purchased it so i added the GTS. With the new custom/dyno tune, it does blow the MPPK + GTS out of the water. I believe the truck is at its peak without adding a down pipe and cooler. Im very happy with it! I do not need the GTS because the cars' ECU is doing what it did, and i also believe that the car's ecu is much faster when it comes down to calculating the ratios, boost etc.

The GTS is best for situations where you dont want to custom tune your car or if the OTS tune has a gap that the GTS can fill.

Were you able to save your MPPK tune before the reflash? Thanks.

I wonder if the engine, i.e. rod bearings, motor mounts, stock charge pipe, are made to sustain such a power boost over stock settings...…..it's very tempting to go down that road, but if there are adverse consequences, it's a different story.

The whole point for the dyno tune is to get a custom tune that only your engine can handle at a safe point. The tuner Frank Smith is not a rookie and Isn't in the business of over tuning just to have numbers then the engine blows up later. The car is amazing now without feeling that its getting choked or overworked. I did have the on edge feeling when the RC GTS was on before the tune... not any more!

So you bought the bm3 license, and an extra amount for Frank Smith to monitor motor performance and adjust accordingly?

I did buy BM3 but could flash it due to that stupid BMW update. So PTF gave me a refund. Frank first did a few runs to get data and then used it to tune it appropriately to fit the health of the engine. the truck is still smooth with no rough idle or anything. Its like nothing happened, but when you get on the gas thats a whole different story. I believe he was able to get 100+ whp over the mppk.

Frank spoke highly about PTF BM3. He said that of all OTS tunes out there, BM3 is the best hands down. he said the tuners/engineers there know their shit. So BM3 is the way to go if you cant dyno tune.
