22" Tire Size in Boston...
So I am in process of refinishing a set of BBS SV and ADV10 wheels but both are 22". I live in Boston and cannot see myself running a 25 profile tire with the potholes and bumps. What would you guys suggest for sizing? I have lowered the X5 also. I am thinking of the following:
295/30/22 315/30/22 I cannot seem to find a 335/30/22 tire? |

You are going to rub the wheel well on the front right side with your suggested set-up at a stock ride height, not considering being lowered which will make them rub more (both sides). Beyond that, the difference in your wheel circumference front to rear is 1.51" which is going to throw off your speedometer, put additional strain on your drive axles, and frankly look silly. Additionally, 305/30/22 is the largest in the rear you can go without having issues and that is assuming the 295/30/22 actually fit. It sounds like you should consult a professional to help you.

You don't mention the offset of the wheels. But I'd suggest starting with whatever the stock BMW M wheels sizes are. Then find one of those online tire calculators, and play around with the sizes, trying to keep front/back circumferences within 1 inch of each other.

I think I'm just going to sell them and go with 20s. I just hit a nice pothole today but no damage. If it were 22s with 25 profile, might be cursing at someone right about now. |

I hear ya. I live south of Boston, and the roads are not friendly to tires or wheels.

Sorry for the late response. I don't have pics but that would be the proper tire sizes
