The only option that isn't working for me is the blinker from 3 to 5. Is anyone else having this issue? Recommendations?

Not sure if this is the answer you're looking for, but I went the mobile route with Bimmercode App (Bimmerlink App for clearing errors) and the Vgate OBD II reader.

Hey everyone,
If you are using the BimmerCode App, you need to also use the free BimmerLink app and clear out all the errors. This way you don't need your car to go to "sleep" and all of your options that you want to configure WILL all work... Remember that you have to clear the errors from both the 1) Error Memory & 2) Info Memory It would be a good idea to go to clear errors in these two areas twice...

BimmerCode you must pay for (to unlock and actually use), BimmerLink is free, or at least it was free.

Still, paying ~$50 for both apps along with ~$25 for the OBD connector doesn't seem too bad considering all the things it'll allow me to do on both my F10 and F15. Now, I'll be pissed if neither codes correctly lol. My dock should be here today so I'll report my results back later this evening hopefully. |

I went with the icar2 as well for the same reason that you did. The reviews I read were better, and they had the reader in Black/Green (I've been a Green Lantern fan for decades!) Now the one thing I wish it could do, and maybe I just haven't seen the option within the App, but the ability to "batch code" would be nice. I made the mistake of selecting each item I wanted to code, then selected code only to find out it only coded one of the selections. This led me to believe that coding in bulk (batch) isn't possible with the App??? I haven't contacted the Dev since it's not a big deal for me. Anyone know if batch coding is possible when using a computer? Last edited by Dirty Cash; 07-08-2017 at 12:40 PM.. |

I initially ordered the iCar2, it was defective so I returned it and ordered the iCar3 and it worked great. I'm sure they both have defects, it's a crap shoot with these devices.

I'm using my F10 as "test" runs. Plan to work on theX5 next. While not afraid of plugging my computer into the car, I just wasn't willing to deal with the "windows in Mac world". Best $75 spent ever

I've tried it on expert mode and change the value to a custom (maximum is 03 cannot go 04) of "PIA_DEFAULT_TIPPBLINKEN"-> "Tippblinken_fuenfmal (0x02). And I still get 3 blinks. Developer said that the value of 02 is correct and with newer iSteps it works for some and not for others. So I fall also on the others since it does not work for me. Oh well.
