It absolutely offers that functionality.

My 2016 X6 is due for it's 15k mile service in about 1200 miles, so about another month or so from now.

My question is, when I take it in for her scheduled service, will I potentially lose any of the features i had coded when I first picked her up back in 2015?
Only if they are reprogramming your car or if there is an issue with your cars CPU and it needs to be updated. Any other regular scheduled service does not erase the codes.
When I brought my car in for the post break in period service, the service center rep did mention a software update might be necessary.

If she brings it up again when I go in, I will opt against this update if possible.

I was only able to code the "gong", removal of legal disclaimers, trunk operation via key fob. Main reason I got this is for the mirror fold and M splash screen but no matter how many time I revert back to original and recode, it doesn't code these features. Now my car doesn't even show any sort of welcome splash screen - it just goes into the screen it was on prior to shutting down.

I did this also to only find out how long it takes to code the damn thing but mirror still doesn't fold up.

What I'm doing is:
1. Plug in the module
2. Code via bimmercode
3. Clear errors via bimmerlinks
4. Restart the car to check the new features.

Features I'm not able to code are:
1. Mirror fold
2. DVD in motion
3. Splash screen

What am I doing wrong?
Can I remove the module after coding or should I leave it on?

Car has to fully go to sleep and you must minimize time between unlocking vehicle and starting in order to see animation. Otherwise, it will be bypassed.

Just a haunch, but stry this jlstyle.

Lock the car, wait about 15 min to allow the car to sleep.. Unlock the car and immediately start the car up and see if any splash screen shows up.

If I unlock my car and wait a few moments before starting I also don't get any splash screen.

Did you set the timed seconds delay to no delay?

You didn't code the time delay off did you? It's probably still on 5 or 3.

Two questions

1 - will this do amber delete on the headlights?
2 - using this setup, could you clear a O2 sensor if running uncatted downpipe?

Clearly I'm not very good with this stuff...

1). Plug in Vgate to port right above left foot.
1a). Turn vehicle on
2). Change wi-fi to connect to v-link.
3). Open Bimmercode app, click connect.
4). Click on what you want to maintain. Instrument cluster
5). Click speedometer in display...
6). Click "code" in upper right to write that to the ECU.
7). BOOM. I get an error. "In-app purchases could not be loaded. Please make sure that you are connected to the internet."

What am I doing wrong? I've tried turning bluetooth off, placing it in airplane mode with wi-fi on.
In settings I have it in "slow".

EDIT: I thought I purchased the APP when I initially downloaded it from the APP store. I did not....thus on the settings screen I "onlock coding" and paid the $26.99. That was the confusion.

It's as easy as this.
0). Purchase APP.
1). Plug in Vgate to port right above left foot.
1a). Turn vehicle on.
2). Change wi-fi to connect to v-link.
3). Open Bimmercode app, click connect.
3b). Go to settings in lower right, change connection speed to slow and unlock coding.
4). Click on what you want to maintain by EDU unit.
6). Click "code" in upper right to write that to the ECU when done.
It's as easy and smooth as that. Not sure what everything means but its easy enough to play with.

Same thing happened to me the first time I coded with bimmercode!

My Vgate iCar 2 Mini Wifi arrived yesterday; I attempted to use it but after numerous failed attempts to get it to connect I gave up. I am returning this one and ordering a new one. (connection issues; wifi wont stay connected, Bluetooth doesn't even appear in Bluetooth. I used the following devices to try and connect to the Vgate iCar; iPhone 6S Plus, 5S, and iPad 4th gen)

Does anyone else have a OBDII they recommend for using the Bimmercode/Bimmerlink apps? (that works regularly)

Cheers!

I used the iCar3 Wifi and a 3rd gen ipad just last week without any issues. Not sure why they still sell the iCar2 when they have the iCar3.

Has anyone figured out how to code "Dazzle" high beam?

European spec with LED headlights has a feature where's the high beam will create a tunnel or block so you don't blink upcoming traffic.

In the US, all we get is Auto Highbeam where it turn off the high beam when it detects traffic ahead.

Some has success coding it using ENET and software... just wonder if anyone done it with bimmercode and can share steps.

Thanks

I've asked the developer about it and he said that he will looked into it.

Why does my ventilated seat option when put on high, after 10 minutes has a mind of its own and decides to cycle itself to speed 2 out of 3. Can this be coded to turn on automatically with the AC? Seems like a no brainer.

There is functional time Coding as well as coding to to remember shutdown setting. I do not know any way to link to ac.

Last week BimmercodeApp was updated in the App store and now I see alot more options when connecting to the car. However, most of them are only configurable in Expert Mode. Has anyone changed settings in these yet?

Thanks!

It was just dumb me not paying full attention. Still kinda off kilter from the serious ass whoopin' I took earlier from the X5M!

For anyone new to coding and may be having apprehensions, try this route as described in this thread! IT'S TOO EASY!!!
Sorry there are multiple options recommended in this thread. Which one worked for you? I'm not against either Mac/ Windows but mobile surely sounds way easier. Thanks!
