Need help understanding ISTA-D suggestion

ISTA+ gives following message when bringing up a test procedure for a registered falut. "The fault memory entry was entered without justification. Reprogram/encode following control unit: Battery Management electronic (SME)"

What does it mean? Does that mean I have to program the vehicle with latest I-level or can I reprogram the SME individually?

I believe it's saying whenever the battery was changed last it wasn't programmed or registered to the vehicle. BMWs are very finicky about that in particular.

Thanks, Battery or SME wasn't changed. I'm wondering if SME is faulty and playing trick on me. But diagnostics on SME seems to be fine.
