And yes, BMW has screwed up with the rear ones.
But then again, with all those plastic pieces - front, ass, fenders - what are we talking about? It screams "CHEAP EXTERIOR" non stop.

What calipers are on yours?
I'm so confused. What plastic are you talking about. I don't have any non painted "plastic" on my fenders or on the back bumper. It's all painted. I take it you don't like all the plastic honey comb looking stuff around the air intakes?

I drive a 50i so I have 50i brakes and F85 calipers sitting in a box waiting to be installed. Why does it matter what brakes I have? And color? This gents pics are of the M Performance brakes aka E70 X5M brakes. And they come blue.....sooo ya.

What do you want the whole car to be aluminum? Talk about weight control. ABS plastic is a much better option for the area of a vehicle that need to flex like numbers. Geez man cmon welcome to the 21st century.

Yeah, I know.
You drive 5.0 - the extra power to howl that would-to-be steel. :-)

I'm installing my M performance brakes and noticed that to replace the rear protection plate, I have to remove the parking brake shoe. It looks like the new protection plate that came in the kit is about 1" larger. Did you guys change the protection plate or leave the old one?

Edit: I replaced the rear protection plate by removing the parking shoe. The 35d old protection plate was too small for the larger upgraded rotor.

This is how you code for Big brake kits for the car. This is REQUIRED or you will have mushy brakes after installing the brakes. Got this from another thread....

=> Connect
=> Expert Mode
=> Coding
=> Read FA
=> Save FA
=> Editors and viewers
=> FA-editor
=> Go to HO-Wort and right click on "Edit," then type SBRE under the HO-Wort file
=> Select the FA, "Calculate FA" to verify that no errors are found after adding the SBRE.
=> Write (write) FA to your car. No confirmation window will appear after saving the FA to the car
=> Expert Mode
=> Coding
=> Read (read) the FA. You are able to see SBRE be added to the HO-Wort folder on your car.
=> Read SVT, and locate the "DSC" (File Folder SVT / ECU / DSC), then right-click the "DSC" folder and select "Code". Consolidation should start immediately.
=> Allow the coding is over, and repeat step 1 to save a copy of the new FA.
=> Disconnect the car's computer.
The M-Performance brake is now activated and enjoy the authentic experience of M Performance brake.
I am unable to get SVT to read. I read this was common issue with F15. I tried reading ECU and then coding all the green boxes after completing the previous steps. When I go back to read FA it doesn't appear that it saved the SBRE. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Edit: I am running Esys 3.27.1 with Launcher PRO V2.8.2.162

Edit 2: Found the solution in the following thread by Mr.47. Thanks!

Sorry to revive this from dead but anyone figure out how to code it via bimmercode? Don’t want to go to the dealer for it 😩

Carly and Bimmercode can only do FDL Coding. For VO coding you need to use something like Esys.
