2018 X5 M And X6 M 0-60 On Bmw.usa Website

Anyone else noticed that the BMW USA website lists the 2018 X5 M at 4.0 seconds for 0-60 mph, however it lists the 2018 X6 M at 4.1 seconds?

I believe this is a change from a few days ago before they updated the website for 2018.

I thought so too but it is typed in at least two different places as 4.1, and it was listed differently for the 2017 model where those same two places used to say 4.0.

No big deal, was just wondering if there was any explanation for why a newer model would get a revised and conservative 0-60 time.

Car and Driver has both the X5 M and X6 M listed at 3.8 during their testing. I am not certain if it was a 2015 or 2016 year model. But it is a recurring number that they quoted. It seems that manufacturers are usually conservative with their claimed 0-60 mph.

Speaking out of pure experience BMW used to overestimate their 0-60 times. In my E71 X6 50i it was claimed that I could do 0-62 in 5.4 (there wasn't a launch control system in that car). I couldn't get better than 5.8 and at times would get a ridiculous time of 6.2 seconds.

On the other hand they recently started underestimating their sprints, which I really like because it gives you an extra buffer. On my previous F15 we managed a 0-62 in 4.48 seconds in comparison to the official 4.9 time put by BMW.
