FYI: found a good source for X5 spacers at unbeatable prices

I was recently looking for some spacers for the rear of my 35d, I have 449 wheels and I just recently added some flares and needed to bring out wheels some more out because they really look sunk in the wheel well specially with the flares installed. So I was shopping around and found this company brand is called DSX not widely known but I took a chance and I must say I have nothing bad to report. I have purchased 25MM spacers for the rear after installation everything is just like stock in terms of driver-ability I have covered 800 miles with these installed, but the look of the car changed for the better stance is much more pronounced than before. DSX spacers are made in Mass, USA (not some chinese knockoff) terms of quality, fitment is top notch, and the price you can not beat this either full set with extended bolts costs $69.89 similar spacers from H&R cost double. Here is a link where I have purchased mine;
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...4AAOSwdhJZd2zB

They come in nice anodized black finish with black bolts, quality finish.

I also thinking of getting either 12mm or 15 for the front which they also carry;
15mm $57.89 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...8AAMXQLs5Rn7GP

12mm $56.98 http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...8AAMXQLs5Rn7GP

20MM http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...8AAOSwYVhZd2yc

10mm http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...8AAMXQLs5Rn7GP

5mm http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53...oAAOxypthRn67B

Very nice info. I am in exactly the same boat. I have some 449 wheels and i do not plan to change the wheels just yet. I purchased some flares and i am looking for spacers. Do you have any idea if 30 mm would work in the back?

30mm would work, but imho it's a bit too aggressive - your tire will be sticking out too much - just my opinion. 20mm is fine

I've used 30mm h&r spacers with stock 19 inch wheels and flares.

Just what i wanted to see. It looks good. I am thinking of using something like 10 or 15 for the front but i have never used spacers before on any car and i am sort of worried of potential "side effects".

Please read this thread on spacers. Front hub sizes changed early in production making it only viable to use 5mm front spacers after 11/14 production.

http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...Rgsport+spacer

Also, I would advise against buying “cheap” spacers as you are putting your life and that of others at risk. H&R spacers are not that much more expensive, and are a known quantity.

I am definitely going for some high quality spacers (H&R, Eibach). Thank you.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I have been using spacers on my other vechicles e46 M3 and others for the last 10 years branded spacers like Eibach, Apex, ECS and unbranded spacers as well. Honestly from my experience the spacers it self had no difference in hardness or fit between branded and unbranded ones I have used, if you concerned about unbranded spacers the only part that you might have to worry about is if they come with quality hardened steel bolts, which in this case they do, if they were not you can always replace bolts if that is the concern. If you have good bolts and proper torque the spacer is sandwiched between wheel and the hub and it is not going anywhere branded or unbranded unless your bolts break off then it does not matter if you have branded or unbranded spacer. With that being said I don't see reason why overpay for fancy brand name something this simple, but that is just my experience and opinion, everyone is entitled to their own.

In the middle of the page 5 there is pictures of what happened to the spacers.

I'm not saying that things like that don't happen but if you google there are plenary examples of branded spacers on the web as well with issues like that, it happens both ways. There is always a variable at play when your are putting aftermarket part on vehicle and you have to be aware of that.

Update if you have car produced after 11/14 like mine than most up front I would put is maybe 5mm because newer cars have updated hubs which makes the wheel stick out more then pre 11/14 production cars those can use 10mm or 12mm up front.

Now that's interesting. How much difference is there?

The reason I asked is because there was part # change, but track width stayed same - it's impossible to change front track width without modifying lots of other things: like electronic systems (DSC etc), let alone suspension parts too btw.

AFAIK the only thing that changed in new hub is hub lip (front hubs only), that's why some spacers initially produced for cars made before 11/14 won't fit on front hubs on cars after 11/14 (that's what rg_33 was talking about in above mentioned thread)

Good finding.

You must love gambling big.
I recently been getting more and more questions why H&R, why not other "xyz" brand? "Xyz" brand is much cheaper and etc.

For you who also had that in mind, here are the answers.

H&R been around for about 30 years (This is about how long I have been in the Industry).
They will not use cheap material or cheap machines to make them.
And they are TUV approved, which TUV is much stricter than DOT or any US division for automotive and/or road/highway control.

While "xyz" brand, I have seen so many different news and origins of them.
Otherwise, why would I not make my own brand if I have sold over 100 sets of spacer combo just for this F15/F16 X5/X6 and F85/F86 X5M/X6M alone. Even at what OP is posting, it is still over priced.

Update after 30k miles, everything is holding perfectly fine, since I have added DSX 5m spacers to the front as well, in order to clear x5M Brembo caliper/brake upgrade kit on 449 style wheels. Highly recommend these

OP, I went back to your original post, just curious how you know these are made in the US? It looks like they ship from there, but country of origin is 'unknown'.

Thanks
