Hi guys. My car i-level was just updated after regular maintenance. Unfortunately, Bimmercode no longer allows me to make changes in 2 modules after the update (BDC_BODY and NBT others work fine). I tried ESYS and it is basically stuck at "reading FA" step. Just as it looks like it would finish the read, it starts all over in and endless cycle. Do you know if updating PSDzData would fix this? If so, what is the correct version that would work? Do you know what else might cause this issue with FA reading?

BMW's follow me home/pathway lights are manually initiated by the driver when needed. I do recommend checking your owners manual for instructions because of late...the procedure has changed slightly for some models. On every BMW I have that has had this feature (e38/e39/e53/f06) to initiate the pathway lights requires a flick of the high beam flash stalk AFTER the car has been shut down. Some of the newer BMWs requires you to turn on the high beam when the car is in the "ready state" (engine NOT running but START button activated and car still powered). See the 2nd image below from my f06 owners manual. Welcome lights are selectable in iDrive. If you haven't yet done so...also refer to your owners manual for additional information on welcome lighting options. The image below is from my f06 owners manual:

Probably I could not express myself. My issue is, when I unlock or lock the car, only the park lights come on and they do not provide any pathway lighting in the dark. In my previous two F10 cars, the headlights were coming on. I was trying to achieve this.

My f06 has LED headlights and either the corona rings or the headlights illuminate when I use the remote fob to unlock the vehicle. This is the WELCOME LIGHT feature. And as explained in the owners manual (see my post above)...you need to keep the headlight switch in AUTO or ON mode if you want the "headlights" (again, I'm not sure if its the corona or headlights illuminating). All I can say is that they are bright. Then, I believe it was with the Bimmercode app...I was able to include the rear tail lights to illuminate with the Welcome Light feature. Check to see if you are only getting your parking lights to illuminate because your headlight switch is in the OFF position.

I have the BMW Adaptive LED lights. It does not matter which position the switch is, it is always the corona lights that come on when locking/unlocking the car unlike the F10s that I had.

The pics below are taken from the DEMO version of the app (its too cold to go out to the garage, hook up the Veepeak, then open the full version of the app that would actually read my control modules and what is available...but the demo mode will give you the gist of what you can code/change). And depending on which modules you have...what is available may be different than what is shown in the demo mode. For instance, lighting can be controlled by the FEM, FRM, or BDC module...until the app can read your modules...it will be at that time that you can see exactly what can be changed/coded. Also...you can download the Bimmercode app to see this stuff for free...its not until you pay for the FULL version and purchase one of the OBD adapters that you can actually code your car and read the modules and what changes you can make etc.

I truly appreciate this Qsilver7. I think it is the option to use low beams or high beams needs to be active in my case. I will use this to go deeper into the expert mode and make the changes. Let's see what happens.

Just find the module that controls your WELCOME LIGHTS...and scroll through the codeable options (if you have Bimmercode). Scroll down to WELCOME LIGHTS LOWBEAM...then click on the arrow on the far right...this will allow you to change from "NOT ACTIVE" to either "SOFT ON" or "HARD ON". Once you've finished your selections for that module...then press the CODE button (again, if you're using Bimmercode).

Anyone know if there’s a way to code the HUD to lock it in position? One time the HUD didn’t come on so I hooked up ista-d and read the error code which pointed at a possible faulty motor. I want to lock it in position to reduce the wear on it since it seems to be adjusting itself every time I start the car which I find unnecessary.

.EST comes from E-Sys Launcher. You must use it to Launch E-Sys. PM sent.

Keeping fogs on with high beams
Apologies if asked before, but with 5000+ posts dating back to 2014 can't check.
Want to keep fogs on when using high beams. Can this be done via Bimmercode? TIA.
