TV Function - No Signal

Hi Guys,

I have a 2016 UK spec X5M F85 with TV function and rear seat ent.

I am having issues with it displaying "no signal" when trying to view the TV function.

The system finds channels as per attached, but is just stuck on no signal.

I tried updating the firmware, and also tried rebooting the NAV via volume button no luck there.

Is there a way to restore and reset the idrive back to factory settings?

I tried the deleting personal account but this didnt fully delete and boot back to default?

I found the TV module in the boot, i am thinking isn’t this as it can find the channels without issue it just is hang up somewhere on the idrive i think.

Any ideas or help would be great.

Thanks.

1. After the TV station scan you should see a list of available stations, can you see them?

2. Can you see video at all? Try putting an mp4 file (youtube or such) on an USB drive, plug it into the armrest USB receptacle, try playing it in External Media, find it via Search, Other Media (or something similar), car stationary or it will not play.
If it works, then maybe your car cannot play UK TV standard (it should!)?

3. Don't give up: your TV tuner is working, it scans for and finds TV stations; in my car a scanned station won't play if TV signal strength is not high enough - and a scan done in position A may show but not play the scanned stations in position B.

Hi,

So once it has scanned and found stations it shows the processing screen then moves to no signal.

DVD and video all works fine as does everything else and it finds station.

I am thinking its a firmware issue as this thread is very similar to what i have been experiencing.

https://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1635787

There is no faults showing, i have tried resetting the video/tv module in ista+ but that didnt resolve it either. It seems like a CIC/head unit issue maybe firmware?
