All Seasons for 612M Wheels

I'm looking to upgrade to the 20" 611M or 21" 612M F85 wheels - I understand the DWS06 tires will fit on the 20" 611M wheels even though the wheel is a bit wider. However, I would REALLY prefer 21" wheels.. Anyone know of all season tires that will fit the 612M's?? Trying to get away from summer tires (due to cost).

Nope - only summer or winter tires on there. I've searched the forums- I haven't found a definitive answer here for Front 285/35R21 and Rear 325/30R21

Nokian (Finnish tire company that invented the winter tire) recently updates their 'all season' called the WRG3, it may come in your size.

Can he do 275 front and 315 rear? I did that for winters a few years back when the 285/325s weren't available.

I have a complete set for sale in the classifieds. They have almost new Michelin Pilots Super Sports that come with the set. They are considered all season, but the tread is cut to be more like a summer tire with rain management.

Super Sports are not Michelin’s All Season tire. They are considered high performance summer tires. They definitely do fine in the rain and such, but their rubber compound is not the same as Michelin’s AS3 tire. In colder temps, the PSS compound will become hard and slick on the cold roads. In the snow, you might as well be on 4 banana peals. Michelin’s AS3 tire is a pretty solid all-a rounder. It’s definitely not going to perform as well as a true summer tire, and it’s not going to be a nice as a PA4 in the winter.

BMW Winter Wheel Sets

For what it is worth I just received my winter wheel set from BMW and all 4 tires are 285 Pirelli Scorpions mounted on steel gray 20” M-spoke wheels. Not sure what style. I got them from dealership. Shop by vehicle at BMW USA and when you choose x6/5 M select winter tire and wheel packages. If you don’t like those at the very least you can determine sizes. Perhaps identify offset of you aren’t going with OEM wheels. The front wheels I received are 20x10. The rears are 20x 10.5. Again, all 285s. It was 3900 for all. Includes TPMs. Good luck!

We went back on forth on 611's and 612's and finally just ordered with 612's, bought a set of staggered 20" reps as I already had DWS06's from a previous X6 50i. I run the DWS06's on the 20's in the winter months and the PSS's in the warmer months. Also run the DWS06's on my 550. They are great all seasons. Don't expect to get 50k on them though with a 400+ HP vehicle. Got 23k on them and down to 5/32 on the rears already. If it's an option, just keep your 611's and swap for the seasons.

Are your 612's you ordered OEM or rep? What's the offset on them?

I actually run replica 469's. We had them on our X6 and I always liked them. Replica 611's were hard to find at the time I was looking. Didn't see the need to buy OEM's to potentially trash in the winter on good ole PA roads. The fronts are 20x10 ET40 and tears are 20x11 ET 37. Run Conti DWS06's on them 275/40 and 315/35 and are fine. It's the standard staggered specs for non-M X5/X6.

BMW F-85 OEM Winter Wheel Package Pics

Been meaning to post these. This is what you get from BMW. Or at least what they gave me. Stickers do say they are for F85.

Check out Accelera Iota All Season's. They're great so far and relatively inexpensive

What size all season tires did you end up getting for the 612m 21 inch from this company? And how's the road noise on them?

285 front 325 rear. Road noise was noticeable when I switched from Goodyear RFT but have gotten used to it.

I did dedicated winter and summer separately. Had I stayed in NC, would have only kept summers.

As I've said in a few other threads, if you can afford an X5/6M, you can afford two sets of tires. Don't shortchange yourself.

I'm trying to decide if I go 21 612m or 20 611. I'm worried about the drive comfort and noise levels though eh the 21. Is it a big difference between the two? If so I'll def go 20s as I think they look good enough. Using 19 right now

How have the Accelera's treated you, any updated review?

Its time for many to start shedding their winter tires, some may be interested in this All-Season option.

I am curious to hear if there is an update on this from OP. Living in Missouri, the choice between winters and summers isn't so easy. Just this week, we have seen 70 degree temps and 30 degree temps. My personal opinion, which is worth very little lol, is that an all-season tire will be safer in areas with significant daily and/or weekly temperature fluctuation.

Cost is not a factor for me as I don't want different summer and winter wheels (terrible decision perhaps but I do not care). If I had separate wheels it would be definitely be more expensive but buying two sets of tires isn't more money, it just requires spending money earlier than you would have otherwise.

I would get summer and winter tires but, again, in Missouri I do not necessarily think that would be the best or safest option.

Thoughts?

As of yesterday, Tirerack websites only show 1 set of tires, Michelin Pilot performance summer tires, for 612M wheels.
Or go with snow tires setup completely.
