2014 NBT Swap out?
Hi Everyone,
I have a 2014 X5 50i and it has the NBT installed. I want to get something more up to date put in. I would like to just take out the NBT and buy a used version of the latest NBT EVO 6. Is this possible? Can you really buy one off Ebay, bring it to a customizing shop and have them swap out? Would it throw off my connected drive and real time traffic subscriptions? Thanks everyone and please take it easy on a NEWB. |

there are some post on this before. You can find them by searching for nbt evo retrofit or if all you need is a better interface with your phone etc... CarPlay box is your best friend. There is a group by in the work.. average price is around $300 The retrofit has some limitations and requires non basic coding. Nothing impossible but you can find yourself either without headunit for some time or taking some times to get all features to work. And some might not, thinking about info trafic. Frankly it sucks. Google maps and other have better traffic prediction. Now, what do you really gain with NBT Evo? 1. Can use CarPlay 2. Better looking interface 3. Better experience of infotainment That's mainly it. You do not get new features. From what I know. Happy to be wrong. To clarify a bit more you can refer to the following thread: https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1646802 And Bimmer-tech summary of possible upgrades: https://www.bimmer-tech.net/blog/ite...cic-nbt-nbtevo Hope this helps.
