2016 X6M purchase

Always followed this forum.

Just about to pull the trigger on a 2016 X6M. I've owned a 2012 X6 5.0 and and a 2014 X6 3.5. The 5.0 was fun but drank oil. At 66k some expensive bits came up but beyond that I don't remember anything really being an issue with either of them beyond tech idrive integration being underwhelming.

I have forgotten more than I remembered about the X6 but always wanted an M version. Is there anything that I should look out for on the X6M prior to purchase that might be a red flag or should be a concern. At these gas prices I might be mad but i have a 2018 RRS diesel so I'm already paying top dollar for gas - I'll be keeping the RRS. This would be a daily driver with a once week inter city highway commute.

Anyone modded for android auto - expect there is a thread going on that already.

Any input appreciated - thanks in advance.

I bought a 2016 X6M last year with 41k miles. I had to replace rear suspension air bags. That is the only repair I did. Check for maintenance list done on the car. These cars are solid if maintained properly.

For Android Auto I instead Android screen from 4x4shop.ca. very pleased with wireless android auto and car play. Install is straight forward and took about an hour. It has couple of very minor bugs but overall great screen for $550

Good luck

So i will be the owner of the X6M tomorrow black/black. Thanks for the info and great tip on the 4x4. That looks like the best android auto integration I've seen at a very good price. Now $440.

The unit is not perfect but it's still great... Most likely you will not use it as an android auto.. Look at it more like a tablet... I connect it with my Hotspot and have no issues watching movies or listening to spotify while using Navi at the same time n powering my daughters tablet.. Hope this help

Might have been nice but too late now.

I took delivery and picked it up in Miami Friday. I will add an MMI probably from Bimmertech. The X6M's were actually very hard to find in the model year 2015-2017 in the color/tech combo I was looking for. I wanted black/black with tech packages, cooled seats, PDC, lane departure, low miles etc and found this single owner well maintained copy with 36k. There were a few in CA but the dealers seemed wishy washy (just my perspective) or were put off by the fact i was in NC so far away.

The idrive system I have on my 2016 X6 F16 is good, but kinda primitive compared to the one I have on my G30 LCi
