It's a temporary fix. The Squeal will come back. I know it happened to me after they replaced the brake pads with the updated bulletin pads. I was able to get the front rotors replaced and a new set of brake pads. (LONG STORY) If you search my name you find the info on what happened. In short I was able to get my rotors replaced out of warranty at no cost to me.

Regardless, they occasionally Squeal even though I have the new Rotors and Brake Pads. It took a few months but it does squeal when the wheels get dirty or hot from stop and go braking. A good cleaning helps and lasts but it comes back.

It if gets unbearable then I'll switch the brake pads to the one the group has been recommending.

My dealership actually gave me a special M brochure addressing big brakes and squeal when they replaced my rotors and pads. Seems like they're hedging the issue of people complaining about brake squeal...

I'll continue with the squeal for now, when the pads are done i'll review these posts again and make a decision which way to go.

They are trying to justify it. They should not squeal like that. I wonder if it's happening with the new M versions?

I had my mechanic apply this black anti-squeal liquid directly to my front pads. This liquid soaks into the pad, and my squeal was history. I'm currently using Power Stop Carbon Ceramics on the X5M. When we removed the calipers, the pads showed rust on their surface. So I knew then where the squealing was coming from. It's been a months now, and no noise or squeals. And I have to tell you, that I love it. The liquid comes in a little white bottle, but looks white out. But applies like a big fat magic marker. When applied, it needs to setup from a 5 minutes to soak in, then reinstall. Good news a little web search, and I found it, it's BG Stop Squeal.

I went to power stop and never squealed again. 🤷🏽

I am using Power Stop Carbon Ceramics, but still had brake squeal. My mechanic thinks that since I wash my F85 very often, that I inadvertently washed the Stop Squeal away using the pressure washer to clean my wheels and calipers. And, I think that he has a point, I do apply the cleaner and a wheel brush to clean the wheels, and spray pressurized water all up in there. But, now that a new fresh coating of BG Stop Squeal has been applied, no noise or squeal and I'm aware of my shortcomings now. So now, I use just a spray bottle and wheel brush and the pressure washer on a very low setting, with a different spray nozzle attachment.

Yes, that it what my mechanic applied to my pads, he then lets it sit for 5 mins to sink into the pads before their installed. And I can tell from experience this shit works.
I was getting a light squeal even with carbon ceramics, when we removed my pads, he told me that I washed off the application by pressure washing my vehicle and wheels too much.
He was absolutely right.

Just found this thread, and wanted post my results. I had terrible squeal on a new to me 2017. I went with these pads from Rock Auto. ~160 and still no squealing after 6 weeks. I changed out pads only. I started with just the fronts and it completely eliminated the squeal. I changed the rears to be consistent. If they start squealing in the future, I'll just change them out again. $92 for the fronts a great deal. BTW: These are the largest pads I've ever seen.

I forgot to mention - I have a brand new, unused set of ceramics for the factory f85 rear calipers for sale. 75 bucks?

It's not like you need them anymore, as we both have different rear calipers now.

I'll go with your recommendation on the EBC Yellowstuff pads - I trust there's been no performance issues?
Pronga38 No performance issues to speak of. I've had the Yellowstuff pads all round in for a little over a year now and 5,000 Kms. Overall they are ok in every way. They brake well (better than OEM), inital bite is also ok. I don't drive all that hard but I do push it every now and then and they haven't let me down. Haven't been able to get any brake fade either (maybe I'm not trying hard enough!!!)

But... brake dust is still an issue, not as bad as OEM, but not far from it. The squeal is also still evident which is really annoying, mainly at low speeds and when coming to a halt.

You may find this odd, but I do not get any squeaks moving forward, but when I back up they squeak. Which I find extremely odd.

Finally swapped in the powerstop front pads. I didn't bother with sanding the rotor. Cleaned the wheel barrel which was completely caked in brake dust. Buttoned everything back together and took it for a ride to bed in. Did a few high speed stops and it wasn't long before they faded. Yeah....not a track pad, but hopefully the decrease in dust and supposed friendliness to rotors outweighs repeat stop performance. Looking forward to seeing how these play out.

As the pads are bedded in more, it gets better.

Just pick them up at RockAuto for $91 + shipping. I have a set of new rears that I would sell for $50. I have the Panamera rear caliper upgrade with powerstops for those calipers, so I won't be installing them. I can also help out with the install if you're willing to drive to 8A off of the NJTP.

The Porsche Panamera 4-piston rear calipers, is a very simple and easy install. I'm glad that I purchased them, besides they look 100% better, and add additional braking force for a 5000+ lbs. vehicle
