Based on past experience while winter driving in Switzerland and Northern Italy:
1. Just frequently wash away the salt deposits; if available nearby, use a washing tunnel that also sprays under the car, these are effective. Do not use rollers to wash the car: dried salt mixed with water may not dissolve immediately and is abrasive. 2. Be careful with the cold car frequently entering a heated garage: warm air carries more humidity which may condense inside the cold steel cavities of the car, initiating corrosion in invisible places. 3. X5/6 M uses a lot of a fibrous mat under the cars, it does not seem good to spray anything protective on it. |
