Maybe something to consider.
I've thought of that. That's why I'm plasti dipping it to see if there is an issue.

If there is not I can take the time to properly wrap it. If not the dip will come off quick

Just ordered some more 3M gloss black vinyl and knife less tape to finish up my roof or the trunk's deck lip portion.

Also iND Gloss Black rear trunk BMW badge so shoutout to them once again.

Waiting for R33 to come up north to help with the Painted Reflectors

F15 services required

-Driver door, lock switch cover is loose

-Knocking sound coming from under belly of car over rough roads/bumpy roads. Like a socket moving around down there.

-Open front windows and thudding and whistling occurs. Possibly due to side mirror housing design.

-Open Sunroof, or windows at speed and luggage cover start thudding in trunk.

UPDATE:

At my dealership now. The shop foreman has it on the rack for the noise below first and lock trim next.

As for the window and sunroof noises they told me more X5 owners need to report the same issues I am having to BMW through their service advisors as they did for me in front of me.

Once my main issues are sorted we will be driving two M sport ones they have on the lot to test the similar wind noise issues and they will contact BMW from there accordingly.

As we were speaking we find the mirror housings to be at fault and the magnet for the luggage cover to not be strong enough at 40+ mph full open element driving.

the whistle noise w/drivers window open is really annoying. dealer says too bad. was thinking of jamming a tennis ball between the mirror and window frame.

So dealer removed the free roaming socket from my undertray.

Ordered the lock switch plastic cover and agreed they most likely broke it removing the door stuff to install my broken window.

As for the windows the other X5's on the lot had the same issues so the Shop Foreman said it didn't make sense to replace the side mirror housings to my X5.

So they have submitted an official F15 complaint to BMW North America on my behalf and my SA did say I should put the word out because he has had a few others say the same thing but they know me personally and took my complaint seriously.

Installed. Took about two minutes, new 3M tape came off in one piece. Looks wayyyy better since the only thing silver on my X5 is my exhaust tips.

Very cool! Adds nicely to the shadow line (gloss black) trim on our M-Sports. What was the cost from r33? Would consider getting one myself.

This was sent to me by iND, I would check their website or do you mean something else from r33? He didn't send me the rear emblem.

If I am understanding you correctly, you drive around with the trunk private/security cover opened causing it to make noises on rough roads? I always have this covered closed because it would make noises on my previous X5 as well. I haven't driven with the cover open yet in my new X5.

I'll give it a try at highway speeds. I like fresh air so that's why I'm pursuing the issue.

Honestly I wish BMW made under trunk storage for the luggage cover so if it wasn't needed like for myself I can always have it in the BMW if needed but tucked away for daily purposes for optimal trunk space.
