I asked this in the m5 forum and never got a response. Can I take my old dinan stage 1 tune dinantronics box from my m5 cp and have it flashed while also purchasing the new wiring harness for the x6m?

Technically yes. When all is said and done you would be saving $500 over just buying a new kit for the X5M though. PM me if you are interested in pursuing and I can point you in the right direction as its a bit of a process...

I'd love to be able to do this with my 3 series. Is that possible?

Not sure what we are doing as its a bit of a mystery but if its either tune/do an airbox for the 3 series or pseudo transfer the tune from one car to another then yes its possible. The latter has varying degrees of problems depending on what car its coming from and then going into.

Just wanted to show my support for these Dinan upgrades, I may have the most miles clocked on this Stage 2 setup. I've been running this setup on my personal X5M and it has been flawless. Currently have just over 5k miles on the Stage 2 tuner and intake, this thing is a beast. If anyone in the Bay Area is looking to check it out, I am located in Dublin, CA.

Where do you find the most noticeable difference in performance over stock? Can you still feel the difference at highway speeds given the weight and aerodynamics of the car? Did you have stage 1 before the stage 2?

Thanks!

I don't think it matter. I just depends on when you order them and the rest is up to Dinan.

They are slowly trickling out. Shipments going out every week and we have additional molds in the hopper being produced so once those get online it should help clear up the backlog quicker.

Got mine today and installed. Easy install and took me around 30 mins. Took a quick ride to make sure no CEL.

Initial feedback
Very slight increase in sound. Hard to hear over my exhaust and Downpipe's in the cabin

Increased throttle response. Around 40 degrees outside and our cars love the cold and think the intake will shine in this cold temps

No sure if I can feel any power difference. Butt dyno feels something but that just might be better throttle response.

Running race chip ultimate at setting three and car is pretty quick. 10 hp increase would be difficult to feel

All in all pretty happy beside I was looking for more sound. Might end up selling it and ponying up for MSR intake when done. It will be almost triple the price but that sound....

If you are interested let me know. Looks like wait times are still backed up

One thing I never understood is how M5 folks with the MSR intake get away with having the air filters right behind the front grills getting completely soaked during car washes or rain. The intake sounds exotic but having water being ingested right onto the MAF and into the engine can not be good in the long run.
