Remote not closing windows
Hi,
New here, I am new to bmw and X5 I got a 2014 30d xdrive about 6 weeks ago and am getting the hang of it . I noticed that when I lock the car using the remote if a window is open it doesn’t close. I have read up and thought that a UK spec car if I hold the lock button for a few seconds the windows should close also. Am I missing something?? Any advice appreciated |

From my understanding from stock you can only open with the remote, you need to code in the closing with locking functionality. At least that's what I needed to do in my US spec car.
I used bimmercode and purchased one of their suggested OBD2 devises from amazon. Super easy. |

Thanks, I’ll check and see if the remote will open the windows.
I have purchased a Bluetooth one and BimmerCode. But I thought this was a factory thang on them, cheers Louis |

Hi All,
I have checked and my remote key only locks and unlocks the doors, nothing else!. The boot button of the key opens the boot and closes the boot if held when boot is open. But no window close or open!, is this normal??, any info appreciated, thanks |

Window open/close using the remote is a coding parameters…so if it doesn’t work for your remotes, more than likely convenience close has NOT been deactivated.
You say you have the Bimmercode app…simply open the app, plug your dongle in…and code convenience open/close to activate. BTW, if you pull out the metal key blade and insert it into the driver’s door lock cylinder…can you then get the windows to open and close when you turn & hold the key in the lock and/or unlock positions?

Just purchased a used X5 from a friend and trying to read up on what it can and cannot do. Gone are the simple days of my 1973 2002 sitting in my garage. Does anyone know if the 2016 X5's have the built capacity or ability for starting the car with the FOB three button press function or was the F15 not is scope of that specific functionality (Code parameter change option, SOL, aftermarket...)? Thank you in advance.
