bmwbenz - Nice situation to be in!
I'd drive the family CLK, keep the miles low, and wait for the Coupe version to come out. More suited for a young guy like yourself. If you get the Lexus, you'll more than likely experience buyers remorse until you get the BMW.

I'd say, if your young, start off with IS350.
So, later in life you learn too appreciate a BMW, more.

I got to drive a 10 year old Dodge Daytona when I turned 16. Plus I had to pay for it! The hubcaps kept falling off and I'd have to pull up to them and make friends open their door and pick them up. That was besides the fact that you had to add a quart of oil every 100 miles or so. But some of my fondest memories are having fun in this car! I'm only 23 now but I did things with that car that I would never do with my new 3. You are in a dilemma most 16 years dream about. ANYWHO- Take the CLK! I mean its a V8! Plus you can piss around with it and not have to worry about every little scratch or stain. Then when spring rolls around- you can pick out a new car. You may develop a newfound appreciation for MB by driving the CLK (maybe an SLK - It may be a chick's car - but only because chicks seem to drool over it) or you may be ready to get a BMW- but I would always feel like I'm playing seconds with a Lexus. just my $.02...

No wink. I'm not too thrilled at the moment. I'm frustrated and annoyed with the constant steering wheel vibration (shimmy) and the way the early buyers are being screwed in terms of features, functions, etc.

I'm in the same position as you BMWBENZ, my dad said almost the same exact thing. I test drove the 3 and the IS350 and i just really like the IS350. I dont know why. Every so often I get myself thinking and saying damn which one do i want (since i am not ordering till mid november). Honestly I beleive i will end up with the IS350. The interrior on the IS350 is much more "plush" than the 325i. NOw i just saw the new explorer and that SUV is pretty tight, honestly im in a huge dilemma like you are right now. Realistically its between the 325 and IS350. If i could just put the IS350 nav in the 325i my decision would be set! good luck on whatever you get.

For selfish reasons, I don't really want E90 getting too popular. I want to be special when I drive mine. . So please go buy Honda, Posche, Rolls, Bentley, or IS350. And what ever you do, don't buy a BMW. . |

Your earlier rhetoric notwithstanding it would seem that the question of which car precisely to get has been rendered completely irrelevant insofar as this paragraph is representative:
”I know I am really lucky to be getting such a nice car....but don't think my parents aren't making me earn it. My grades [sic] is [sic] whats [sic] getting me my car. If I get all A's and B's and let me tell you its not that easy in a College Prep Private school, being in all honors and AP classes, then I will get a car.” That is to say that as you appear to clearly be failing English, it would seem, based on your previous statements, that no new car [regardless of type] will from your parents be forthcoming. |

We are getting a new IS for my wife this weekend.
If you love driving, go for the BMW. It is a no-brainer if you've driven them both. If you prefer comfort, flashing lights and shiny objects, then the Camry, er, I mean the Lexus is your choice.

Why not let's stop dragging on, let's decide a car for BMWbenz0101 so we can see photos of his new car and his ladies friends sooner. Considering these days so many young talents make their first 20million dollar before age 20, he should get a330i to start with and change it to a M3 coupe next year.
