Unichip is a little older hence its a wired solution. All the wireless units came in 2019, am pretty sure they all have the same functions and more in comparison to Unichip.

For the record: The company is called IDCORE, who's firmware is used in both Unique Auto Developments & Joyeauto, NOT Unichip. You can draw your own conclusion about this, until we get further confirmation from a member here on the board regarding this topic.

Sorry KC, I just suffered a brain fart doh! The wireless company is called 'Unique Auto Developments', NOT Unichip that shares firmware with Joyeauto, software is different between UAD & Joyeauto also from what I gather. Sorry if I may have confused anyone! Which means the jury is still out unfortunately.

I have no interest in wired solutions so that excludes Unichip. And I agree that 360 camera working is a requirement as well.

The discussion over on the F30 forum seems very enlightening. It sounds like a lot of them are having the same audio issue that I experienced with the Avin unit in my M3. I wonder if the Joyeauto unit will have the same sound problems. Either way while the Unique box sounds like a good choice it's still quite a bit more expensive than Joyeauto. Come on let's make a decision because @sbinshihon is making me drool with all of the pics of his CarPlay!

Partly. I think I know the answer though. My understanding is that you can use B/T audio while in CarPlay but any sound coming out of CarPlay, such as navigation instructions, will not be heard. Therefore, it seems likely we will need to switch between B/T and CarPlay depending on the situation.

also you have to keep in mind, the price is for US based shipment. I see you are based in toronto, while the shipping cost is not much, it will be added to your order. unless you want to pay directly $60 shipping from china to your home.

Shipping cost from China to US or to Toronto should be about the same. With the US/China trade war going on, it might even be cheaper after all's said and done.. If not, worst case I can use a shipping address in NY.
