Nothing custom yet. Just stage 3 ots.
does the xhp flash license come with one free map or do you need the flash license and the map bundle pack to get stage 3? not really interested in stage one and two..

Flash license doesn't come with a free map. Needs to be purchased separately.

I've always been generally disappointed with the transmission AFTER I went BM3. Feel like it's a little sluggish compared to the engine now...

Approximately $185 USD for the License and another $185 for the map pack. Here is an explanation of each map

STAGE 1
Stage 1 files are made to enhance mileage and comfort. Shiftpoints are adapted to make optimal use of your engines torque and keep revs low and steady all the time. Gearbox Torque Limiters are removed to open the way for proper operation when paired with tuned engines.

STAGE 2
Stage 2 files focus on the sporty aspects, without compromising comfort. Shiftpoints and Clutch-Pressures are adapted to speed up shifting and reduce reaction times.

STAGE 3
Stage 3 Maps are made for everyone having fun driving fast and going to race-tracks. While the standard D-Mode mostly retains factory smoothness the Sport and Manual modes are optimized for the fastest shifts possible. Eventually features like Launch Control and "True Manual Mode" are added.

Gear box torque limiter removed. So those of us with tunes aren't actually getting all the torque available down low? Can someone explain just how much torque we would need to actually take advantage of this?

I took my X6 on a rally after having it tuned again after passing emissions. And I have to say I really can't see how much faster the transmission can get when shifting. At least not worth spending a couple hundred. But I'm hoping to be proven wrong. I love improving the car, just want to actually improve it instead of just doing it for the hell of it.

I flashed mine recently, for what I paid I think it is a great deal! I paid for my Audi TCU tune 500 and there are zero customization options and one map only.
I first did stage 2 and after a couple of days stg3. In the past I always felt that delivered power/tq was not 100% according with the engine rpm, now seems to be on pair. I haven't done any draggy comparison to before and after so I can't say some actual numbers but gear changing are extremely crisp, there is no faster than this. I been waiting for almost two years (since I got the car) for a TCU tune, not necessarily because of the gear changing feeling slow, that was pretty good to begin with, but my concern was that of needing increase clutch pressure. Everything else I got it is a bonus Also, stage 3 it is the way to go, D mode really feels no different than before while on Sport you get the best optimizations. Everything feels as smooth as before, there is also the option to customize pretty much everything if you don't like the way OTS maps are including setting up a higher rpm shift point if desired. I haven't touched any customizations yet and I probably never will.

As for the cable, I used BimmerGeeks Pro cable, first time flashing took about 8min and second time 2min

Anyone flash it via Windows 10? Their website vaguely mentions it, but no way to download software.

More than half a second on trans tune alone...I'm pretty skeptical.

I've been tweaking my shift points for D1 mode and so far the results are good. I'm primarily looking to keep the revs a little higher to make the vehicle more responsive but retain smoothness.

One thing I've noticed is that the shifts are noticeably smoother, especially downshifts into 2nd gear. The occasional jerkiness at/near stop downshifting into 1st has also seemed to disappear. Not sure if this is related to recent BM3 map changes, but downshifting improvements alone are worth the license cost for me. Anyone else notice this?

What map are you using? On the fence about stage 2 and 3.

I am Abit confused, does our car have S mode auto?

D/S mode is D mode in auto
how about S mode?

In M1,2 button S1 to S3 is manaul mode does it act different from manaul mode which we switch at gearshift?
