How many drives/miles did it take you guys for the CEL to go away? I've put on about 150 miles in about 6 drives so far and its still on.

I'm wondering if clearing the MAF adaptations via ISTA+ would help. Any input on that?

Unfortunately I didn't track the miles and was kicking myself for not doing that as I knew someone would ask.

On a different note, after I installed my Dinan intake, the idle would fluctuate and drop a bit like it's about to die during cold start. It does this for only about a sec and then the rpm will go back above 1K like normal for a bit until it settles below that. Wondering if I need to clean the MAFs cause I had removed them a few times with the various things I tried to do with the AFE.

The openings on each side of the airbox? They've identified the issue as the seal between the airbox and filters?

Wanted to share my experience with the AFE intake. I bought it used from another member here. Previous owner did not have any CEL with the intake which was why I decided to purchase it from him.

I currently have the RaceChip tune in my vehicle. No CEL immediately after install. About 15 miles of driving later I got the CEL. I just ignored it for the time being. 3 days later and about 60 miles of driving total the CEL turned off by itself.

Aside from the CEL anxiety I’m very happy with the intake.

Currently have the dry filters with the intake

Not even a little.

Also, all your returns have seemed to cause the price to be jacked up lol. Up to $762 for the dry filters now, $799 for the Pro5R.

I think you're just hearing more from people with issues vs those without. The CEL went away on mine after about a week. I decided to get the Dinan intake mainly to go with my Dinan exhaust.

Their price fluctuates. They go on sale every once in a while down to 650ish.

Man, read through these 10 pages and not sure if I should bite the bullet and try the AFE or not...

Knowing the Dinan "intake" is a blingy carbon cover and filters for $1200 is a turn off.

The RK intakes are cool but $1849 is hard to swallow.

With that said, I drive around in my 991 Turbo S with a check engine light, lol because I haven't had my tuner tune out the lack of cats yet.

Perhaps the AFE won't throw codes for me.

Yeah seems like hit or miss with the CEL. There's a couple used ones for sale in the Classifieds section. Maybe give it a shot and if the CEL comes on, just let it be and drive around for a week or so. Hope the computer will adapt and it'll go away then.

Curious if I can make that AFE intake in carbon.

If you have proof of purchase from them or authorized resellers, you can contact afe and they will troubleshoot with you. What did it for me is updated intake tubes. They are shaped a little differently and the cel never came back on.
