Its fully plug and play with an ATM and you will get connecteddrive services etc like RTTI. Looks like the seller updated the wiring to work with software upgrades too. If you don't get an ATM, you can get a GPS emulator or wait till you find one. If you are on NBT, this isn't easy. Most of it is documented in parts everywhere and depends on the situation, so a DIY isn't going to help much.

@sj22 i recently did an nbt evo retrofit thru bimmertech using an atm emulator. Yes it sucks we dont have connected drive service working. Are you saying if i source an NA ATM, and the CAN wiring from ebay, its possible to have connected drive working?

See my reply to your pm. Absolutely. The only things that arent working for me is lock/unlock from iphone and send to car. Everything else works.

Is there some kind like a DIY on how to do this retrofit and a list of everything needed. I would like to do this. I am reasonably mechanically inclined. If I could do this myself (Except Programming) it would be awesome.

May I suggest buying a full kit and doing the install from bimmerretrofit/codemybimmer or one of the big vendors who collect all the right stuff and then just ship it to you? It may be only $300-$500 more but you will get everything that you know will work together.

The snap-in wlan option as well as the integrated hot-spot subscription in CD have 1 advantage: the network reception is better compared to the phone, as it uses the external car antenna.

Ok guys, just wanted to post an update. I ended up downgrading the idrive on the retrofitted NBT evo to 18-03 and now everything including connecteddrive, send to car, remote ventilation etc. is working like OEM. It even allowed me to renew them or buy additional stuff.
In terms of technical detail: it needed an ECU upgrade/downgrade with the correct vin selected during TAL processing. Not a VIN change with FSC after flashing. Also was able to use a 25A continous charger w/o any issues.
