Did you get a hold of my to do mod list? Lol steering trim and reupholstering, paddle shifters.
How is the fit and finish behind the wheel/where there’s no stitching holding things in place? I saw someone with a similar kit and the leather was bunched up and or was sticking out behind the wheel by the controls.
Is the added thickness that noticeable?

paddle shifters next

Fitment is perfect, and if done right the extra fabric tucks into the wheel controls

thickness wise it adds 1.2mm-1.5mm thickness and it feels great.

This my also help i created a thread on my thoughts of the wrap:

I got all alcantara with a single white stripe. I was gonna get white, black, white stripes but I figured that could be a little too much in the long run.

Yeah I thought about a white marker and white stitching and thread to match the exterior theme of my X5. Instead went with blue to match the blue ambient lighting. Yeah I know I can change the lighting to white but like the blue lighting.

Added paddle shifters. Couldn’t find any CF that fitted for the M-Sport wheel would have had to remove the current and install M shifters decided to go with these for now.

M Performance Power Kit

I’ve heard good things and also heard it’s overrated. With that said, I just received my large white envelope (MPPK) in the mail.

Appt set for Thursday. Let’s see what you’re all about

You will definitely enjoy it when in sports mode. The shifts are so much smoother, less jerkiness as the car isn’t confused on what gear to be in.
Mppk and mpe were my two favorite mods.

For your mirrors did you just remove the covers without removing the actual mirror lenses? Any advise?

Looking forward to it. MPE sounds tempting but the significant other dislikes the sound she already thinks the cold start note sounds obnoxious

Which trim piece is this one? Is it the $145 one?

With the conversion rate and 5% coupon it was 279 for me but I guess it is what it is. As long as they fit it’s all good.

Ordered the sides on Tuesday and got tracking that they will he delivered on 8/12, Fedex. That’s incredible considering it’s been 3 weeks and still waiting on packages from florida and California through USPS. I hate USPS so much.

First impressions:

I already put on 40+ miles while on sport mode and gotta say I’m pretty happy with it. As NYC_X5 mentioned, the gear shifts feel much smoother. I also feel a difference in acceleration better response and power. Can’t wait to give it a go in sports +.
