Sitting in the drivers seat I haven’t noticed any changes to the exhaust note, but in reading the bmw mppk product info (https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...1&d=1441583503) it does mention the following:

The M Performance Power Kit ensures an optimised engine and exhaust system sound. Exhaust bubbling is enabled in "Sport" mode. As a result, the car sounds like 'performance'.

I’ll see if I hear a difference next time I take bae out.

Usually cold start will be a bit louder just with mppk. burbling is more pronounced in 1st and 2nd gear around 1700-2000 rpm. Try driving in sports/shifter to left around 25-30 with windows down in 3rd gear and then drop it to 2nd. While keeping it in 2nd give it a sharp press of acceleration just to get rpms up and let go

First impressions:

I already put on 40+ miles while on sport mode and gotta say I’m pretty happy with it. As NYC_X5 mentioned, the gear shifts feel much smoother. I also feel a difference in acceleration better response and power. Can’t wait to give it a go in sports +.
How is it in comfort mode? I've read there's barely a difference so Im a bit hesitant as I drive in comfort 80% of the time mostly due to local commutes.

Let's see that crystal start button

My pic doesn’t really do it justice
Question I ordered this and the button looks mirrored, when you shine a light one it it looks black. But the button not the surrounding is like mirror. Is yours like that?

While driving really don’t hear the burbling, but the exhaust note sounds a bit deeper. Also I’ve read from other MPPK threads/members it takes some time for the tune to settle in.

I shot this cold start video the other day and you can definitely hear the burbling.

I’ll have to give that a try.

I definitely feel a difference off the line in comfort mode the power increase is noticeable in both modes. If you’re looking for reduce throttle lag, more low end torque power, smoother shift points and still under warranty IMO MPPK is the way to go.

Truthfully the mods were going to be subtle, but I think I went a bit overboard.

Which film did you use for the fog lights? I tried tinting them before by cutting out a circle that would fit the area but application was difficult since they are convex and the film would wrinkle at one end

Lamin-x precut fog light covers. Took a few minutes to apply on each side. No wrinkles or bubbles and the film is very forgiving as you can remove and reapply as many times as you like. Also ended up paying only $11 for the pair. Used 20% off coupon code “WELCOME” + my credit card is offering $5 credit for purchasing from small businesses and Lamin-x qualifies as a small business

Any shots from the side of the car after side skirts were installed? I’m debating on only putting the rear middle part on and leaving off the sides on the rear bumper. However curious to see the look with everything.

Thanks for posting those. How do you think it would look without those flaps on the rear outside? I was debating on not putting them on but just the middle/defuser part. I’ve been searching for a pic but can’t find one.

When I was installing the kit I debated on adding the rear flaps. IMO I think it looks fine without them but since I had the flaps I figured I’d install them

BMW of oyster bay. They charged 2 hrs for the installation for a total of $330 which was the best price I was able to find since I purchased mppk from another dealer. The dealers ard me would only install it if I purchased the kit from them.

For emblems no need to take them off. Just mask around the emblem and leave a 3/4 inch gap. You want some of the car paint to show between the emblem surface and the tape. If you tape too closely to the emblem then the tape will pull up the Plasti Dip from the emblem surface. When you spray cover the emblem and masked off gap.
