Slip On 3.75 Inch Black Exhaust Tips
Been stalking this option since before I got my F85 and was disappointed that Burger Tuning stoped making them. It all started with this thread (can't thank the OP enough)...
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1554557 From there, I had decided on painting them and was ready to order the paint when someone pointed this out... https://modeautoconcepts.com/product...8207e294&_ss=r Decided to take a chance and give it a shot. Ordered from Australia on 10/3. $256.49 USD shipped (Last DHL shipping update was 10/9) and the vendor was super responsive saying shipping was taking longer than normal. They magically showed up yesterday! Loved them right out of the box. View post on imgur.com They are beefy for anyone who knows how big a large Dunks cup is... View post on imgur.com View post on imgur.com So, in the Burger thread above, the OP cut the ends of the tabs of inside (you do this because, remember, these aren't made for the F85/86). I didn't have tin snips so I just bent the tabs flat with pliers. You have to lift them up and be careful not to damage the mouth of the exhaust tip. WARNING! - I was bending the tips back at first to work from the back of the tip and I broke a whole tab off. Thanks god it went on securely with 4 and my hack job repair on the one I broke. Before: View post on imgur.com After: View post on imgur.com Had to be patient (not my strong suit) and wait a day after I ceramic coated them: View post on imgur.com Finally put them on today. It's snowing like crazy here so my pictures stink with no room backed into my garage. Will add better pictures when weather is better and the M is clean. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with how they fit and look. I did flatten the tabs inside as much as I could with my thumbs as my initial test fit showed they were going to take a ton of force to get them on. After flattening, they slide right on and almost click into place. They aren't going anywhere. Just installed mine as well from the same company. I bent and broke off a couple tabs so I used Permatex Muffler and Tailpipe sealer between the outside of the stock tips and inside of the new tips. They are bonded for life as well as friction fit.

Looks great! I've been debating on doing this and think I may have found the same ones on AliExpress cheaper.

I love these forums. I think I only have 6 pieces of chrome on my car left: the roundels and the exhaust tips. Already have new roundels on the way. And I am going to pick these bad boys up next. Thanks OP!!!
Edit: just purchased from Mode. |

Nice! I'm on the fence on the roundels, but everything else is black on mine as well.

I installed these on my wife's M2 a month ago and they're fantastic. Enough to make a difference, yet subtle enough to where they could be OEM.

Yeah. I'm assuming it does a number on the stock tips. I had brief second thoughts before I pressed the first one on, but just told myself if I hated the black tips, I could just buy $4k aftermarket exhaust to fix the tips.
