I would say check Cargurus. And May be check on all BMW dealer websites in 100 mile radius to your Zip Code. Coz most of the times people buy them while they are getting certified. They list them on their own website which would say coming soon without pricing and pictures.

I agree. For me, I went with BMW website pre-owned within 100 miles but used other websites like Cargurus, Cars.com, etc. just to see where the market is pricing these F85s. I can tell you though with BMW dealers these cars get sold fast! I got burned a couple of times (long story) before I was able to get my car.

BMWUSA - Check for pre certified vehicles within a particular radius from your location.

I'm not really in a rush, would it be beneficial price wise to get one around February March?

I believe Nov-Dec have good prices but again with the X5m they never sit on the the dealership lots that often, when I got mine while it was getting certified, they had 3 other people waiting in line inquiring about as well. So if you find one you like just grab it.

100% agree. I say go into their website periodically (I went in everyday lol) and just keep looking until you find exactly what you want. I'm sure they will continue to roll in since 2018 leases are ending. With that said, they do go fast so if you find one to your liking my suggestion is to call them and put down a good faith deposit (REFUNDABLE) right away so that they will hold it for a couple of days for you to come in and decide if you want it. If you don't want it they will refund you your deposit end of story and on to the next.

If, I was to purchase a brand new X5M, then I would certainly consider buying a extended warranty, especially if I was planning on keeping the vehicle for a long time.
I bought my X5M CPO, and my warranty has just ended. And I currently have no plans on renewing my warranty, I will just fix things as they break. But from what I've seen after owning European cars from awhile now, is there pretty reliable but must be maintained religiously to avoid big issues.

Right mine is the BMW ultimate care ( maintenance plan ), as a CPO it has the warrant till 2024. But the maintenance was expiring in 2 months. They told me it will cover anything related to maintenance including rotors brakes and pads, just bring the vehicle in, till 2024 / 100k miles.

But does that also cover the transmission, transfer case and front and rear differential fluid flushes. Because on my car BMW refused to do it, unless I had an issue. I think that just waiting for the fluids to fail, and then hit me with an expensive repair.

Not sure on those, will read the contract. But just for rotors, brakes and pads, I think the plan is going to cover for itself over the next 4 years. And of course oil changes. 🤔

Here is my take on this, depending upon what you paid for your warranty, does it justify the cost of replacing rotors and pads, oil changes, differentials, transfer case and transmission services. As we all know BMW will not replace diff, transfer case and transmission fluids, unless there is an issue. I would want my warranty to covers these driveline fluids and services, along with everything else. But I know their are stipulations written in the fine print, like all contracts. You wouldn't know unless you had a issue, or you tried to get a repair on this problem.

Typically with car sales in general, end of year is best time as dealers are trying to close books and move inventory to make space for new year.

You are correct about CPO and I am aware of the coverage. In essence one is paying up front for the service that will be required at a later date. They wanted $3500 for the extended Maintenance package. Did not want to tack that on to the financing. By the time one pays the loan off that $3500 goes up in price. On top of that they tax it here in NY. I even tried to negotiate the price on all the options they were offering. They would not budge at all so I declined.
Is it a tinny kind of hum or vibration? If so and you have the B&O system, check the middle speaker/sub in the dash. I was getting a vibration on hard acceleration and I figured out that the plate was just resting on the speaker and not clipped onto it.

It's always nice when it's an easy fix. Hope that's it for you too.

No vibration but a humming sound that is noticeable while the car is ideling in park or stopped at a light. When parked, if I press on the gas slowly and release you can hear the hum sound follow the light acceleration. Sounds like an low hum from an amplifier.

When I was running through the posts in here a while ago, I could have sworn I saw someone going through an issue like this.

Try a lookup. Good luck finding the issue!

I bought mine on 12/31. This was probably my best dealer purchase. Walked out of the dealership close to 10pm.

Car was sitting since August and the dealer spend about 8k on service, tires and brake/rotors, but no alignment or brake flush. Who does that?

Anyway, ended up paying way below what dealer bought the car for.

About a month and 300 miles later saw a crack in a brand new front tire. Most likely a factory defect. So I ended up buying one 21" tire.

I am not looking forward on replacing all 4 when it's time. Lol.
