Seems to be 2017+ as I have a 2017 and can't find the modules either. I'll keep poking around and hopefully someone can find where they are hidden in either Bimmercode or ESYS

Yes, to my understanding the lower the values, the slower it goes, but you also don't want the values too far apart.

I've seen 18, 26, 40, 58... or 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55... and so on.

From what I can comprehend...the coding mentioned in this thread appears to do something to the spindle drives (#18 in the diagram below)...because if you watch it close (electronically)...it starts moving at the same speed as before the coding...but near 20% of closing...the drives appear to slow down the tailgate so that the soft close actuator can engage.

Prior to the new coding...the spindle drives didn’t slow the tailgate down enough so the tailgate would just slam shut. When/if I would manually close the tailgate (prior to the new coding)...the tailgate would soft close “gently” if the tailgate wasn’t closed forcefully...again, would gently soft close like the passenger doors.

Apparently my spindle drives are making noise so they are replacing it. as soon as I get her back, I will try re-coding and hopefully get this one-touch issue resolved...

Thank you. For years I've been traumatized when the hatch would close on my E70 and F15. Finally my vehicle does not sound like the base drops when I close the hatch.

I want to thank smyles again for the heads up on this. I tweaked one number, on Byte 3 I used 50 instead of 58 and now the whole trunk closes completely smooth. Done with that damn slam!

2017 xdrive40e missing these options in Expert mode

I too am not finding these options under expert mode. My categories appear to mainly be in English. Anyone found a way to do this on a 2017 X5? I hate the slam.

I've looked around a couple of times on my 2017 and can't find anything obvious. There are categories for speed and speed profiles but no clue what needs to be changed. I'm hoping someone can figure it out as the slamming is annoying.

Different Coding Options

I don't believe I read a fix but if so, apologize. I also don't have the same coding options. Mine starts with 3000 USER....
3020 shows "APPL_SENSOR."

Tailgate closing force modification: Just pick preset options

Hi Guys. I tried/experimented various options on my 2015 X5 (F15) with Bimmercode and found the following:

(1) The force of the slam is controlled by the 1st byte (and 2nd byte possibly). Changing other byte values does not have any effect on the slam or lack thereof.
(2) No need to enter customized byte values. Just select one of those preset options with a lower value and you will be fine. So less chance of messing up anything. I picked F86.

Thanks. This worked well on my 2014 F15 35d using Bimmercode 3.5.0-7341 on Android. A couple things to add:
1. You can only select one class at a time. So I configured the Wert_f15 parameters first.
2. After configuring Wert_f15, the Wert_85 parameters seemed to be automatically updated when I went to look into custom value, so I didn't have to do anything here.
3. My display only showed the last 2 digits i.e. default was 4a instead of 0x4a. So I just used the 2 digits in the custom value i.e. 20 instead of 0x2a.

Ok I only saw 3037 in the demo mode of BimmerCode. Within the 3010 group, there are also the following parameters:

PwmClosePlg (normal PLG close run PWM without speed control)
PMWMaxPlg (max power when speedctl is enabled - SpeedCtlEnabledPlg = 01)
SpeedCloseKPPlg
MotorSpeedCloseMaxPlg

The question is how these parameters correspond to the values in the older models such as 2015/2016. But I think the slam force should be related to the speed and/or the power level. In the absence of clear documentation, the only way to figure it out is to try (but with caution).

Update (4/3/2021): This is now resolved. The parameters are in 3011 APPL_PLG_SPEED_PROFILE
for later models. See https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...6&postcount=52
