Space saver spare
Anyone have a good source these days for the space saver spare? The ebay listing from the old (2018) post here is no longer valid. Only thing on eBay is $675

I ordered mine from modernspare for a little over $400 shipped. Included the tool kit chocks and hub spacer since I have the 50i with bigger brakes. Just no fancy foam insert for tools. I did have to wait almost 3 mos for it to arrive but it maybe in stock now.

I have a plug kit / compressor and AAA but want to be completely covered in case of a sidewall rupture or no cell service going away from runflats come spring. |

I'm on 20" tires but I can't find any donut spare of the same size, only 17", 18" and 19". I suppose the 19" should be adequate considering I should be a temporary replacement, am I correct?
Considering getting this kit so I can change to regular tires since the 20" Dueller RFTs are shot already. |

Front: 275-40-20 Rear: 315-35-20 both work out to approx 28.66 inches in diameter. The "modern spare", which is a 155/85R18 has a 28.5 in rolling diam, which puts its close enough into spec so no issues are caused to the drive train. The limitation is size of the front brake caliper/rotors, which will be your major limitation. The offset on the 18x4 in rim looks pretty high and coupled with the spacer included should help fitment as they claim with M Sport brakes. I too need to ditch the OEM Bridgestones RFT's after this summer and will need to get a spare. Looking forward to getting rid of the noisy Duelers for a non-RFT. |

Update, my kit from Modern Spare arrived and it's legit. Nice black 5 spoke rim, quality spacer, tire already filled to 50psig, quality jack, nice tools in a bag. Everything fits perfectly in the rear under tray storage. Very happy with this buy.

So curious question, been searching but can't find the right answer. I have the OEM 18" steelie spare in my trunk. I'm changing to F85 brakes all around. I know modernspare.com sells an 18" spare for the F15, and if you have M sport brakes they add in a 2" spacer. Does anyone know if that same 2" space added to the OEM 18" spare would provide enough clearance for the F85 brake calipers? Trying to avoid buying the 19" aluminum spare if I can. Any help is appreciated...
