Other option is to just keep the rears the way they are and use G2 paint while the brakes are still on the car. Mod decisions shouldn't be this hard.
I would just paint them while on the car

I'd also consider the Panamera caliper upgrade. They're cheaper than oem rear calipers but you will need the brackets. The tricky part is getting f ahold of trinon or what ever their name is and get the adapters. Which I think they want like $200 for which isn't terrible.

Oh great, there's another option? You're going to make my head explode. Is there a link to a thread talking about this? Did a quick search and didn't see anything.

Oh damn. That's pretty legit but yea, I'm not going there.

Question about powder coating calipers to those with experience. I've contacted two companies and they both told me something different. First company said that they take out the pistons and seals, powder and then reassemble. Second company does not disassemble and says that the pistons are fine in the oven.

The second company is also a lot cheaper. Does anyone know if that's ok?

It is not a good idea to expose those rubber seal around piston in the high heat oven.

Kinda what I was thinking. But I was also thinking that brakes get hot as hell under normal use. I think the powder process is around 400 degrees for 15min or so.

I was initially thinking to remove pistons and all seals/rings. Powder coat calipers myself in kitchen oven: there's a powder kit you can order and it's not too hard to apply powder yourself and then just bake it in oven. And after it's done - install new rings/seals back. Fairly straightforward job, but I was too lazy, so kept everything as-is and just painted all calipers lol.

Yea I keep flip flopping on what I want to do. If I do it myself, the G2 paint in a custom color is $110 and I'm not 100% sure that its enough for these massive front calipers and the rear calipers.

Powder is about $250 for the fronts and they remove/reinstall everything for you. If I go powder route, I'll have to go ahead and buy new rear calipers too so everything can be done together. Probably an extra $200 to powder the rears.

Ya I'm in the same boat. The ones I picked up need re costing wether paint or powder and I've been toying with getting a powder coater for fun! Plus I was thinking of doing the rotor hats as well for fun.

But I must say and recommend to anyone DO NOT POWDER COAT IN YOUR KITCHEN OVEN! The chemicals that are released from the powder is poisonous and can seep back into foods etc when reheated. And no one wants that! Especially a future doctor! Lol

A simple $80 toaster oven will do just fine and what most DIY use!

I agree! That was silly of me. Got carried away with modding.

With all the Black Friday deals, I broke down and ordered the Brakenetic set. Front and Rear Rotors and pads for $100 more than what just the OEM front rotors would've cost me. Also picked up a set of used X5M rear rotors on Ebay with their 15% coupon yesterday so they'll be able to handle the 385mm rear rotors.

Now I just need to figure out what color to powder coat the calipers. I can't make up my damn mind!

Read multiple threads and still no consensus on that squealing issue. A lot of opinions that "that's a ///M noise and get used to it (like all big brakes have it)". I'm still going to go for Bosch pads I found, hoping that cheaper pads will be softer and will stop that noise.
Have you replace your front brake pads yet?

Got both front and rear pads ready to go. Just waiting for a break in my schedule to install them. Will update.

Got Bendix (copper free ceramics with 4-layer anti-noise shin) for $36 and PowerStop (CF ceramic) for $35 both from rockauto https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...brake+pad,1684

Will see how they perform.

power stop 1429 for the front Where did you get it for $35? It is very good price.

Why Bendix for the rear not powerstop?

You are right - should have gone for Power Stop too, just chose Bendix as I liked that they were copper free ceramic - I thought would give them a try.

Not really a rocket science.
They ought to proud that people want their calipers to look as brembo’s.
That simple.
Some people fly in their sleep. Brembos are far more reachable.
