Audio source input volumes

Have you noticed how usb, Apple play or Bluetooth are all significantly lower volume than satellite or radio?
Anyone know of a way to boost these inputs? (Waiting for volume knob comments..)

This is most likely due to the quality of the music files you play vs the crystal clear radio technology.
I have downloaded several YouTube videos, converted them to "high quality" MP3s and stored them on my phone, but none of them can reach the sound quality of the HD radio.

It is a paradox, as you'd think that wired transmissions would be clearer than their wireless counterparts.

I know this sounds stupid, but I assume you have the source volume turned all the way up - correct? Like if you are BT from a phone - the volume needs to be turned up on the phone as well?

I know, I know.....but you didn't mention it and I'd hate to not say it!

I was thinking about this the other day. The difference between satellite and USB is night and day, even when you listen to HQ FLAC files from the USB source. And even the songs that I've amplified on Audacity sound dull in comparison. Maybe it can be coded?

Not sure about WiFi mode, but in CarPlay mode, the volume on the iphone has no effect.

I didn't know that. I know my Android in USB and BT mode - the volume on the phone makes a big difference.

I truly think BT audio is pretty crappy anyway, so I keep my music on the HD and listen to it that way anyway.

But if I am using the BT or USB - I crank it up to insure best results

Carplay doesn't let you change volume. But I checked Max volume and EQ settings and there isn't anything that would improve output from the phone. It seems to be a source amplification setting in the car.

Related - I am completely surprised how bad the Sirius XM sounds. I have tried every setting and it's still horrible...
