35d vs 40d - discuss.

Diesels in the the UK have been popular until recent government demonisation of all things diesel.

I know most of our friends over the pond run petrol but for us diesel folks, how do you feel about the 40d vs the 35d? There's a reasonable price difference 2nd hand, not much acceleration difference and I don't know a about real world mpg, but the 30d is much more popular than the 40d on the 2nd hand market

I've always had the equivalent of the 40d in BM's with the 353d, 635d and now the 40d. Basically the same straight 6 lump but with 2 turbos.

Unfortunately, US only got 35d (aka 30d everywhere else) with single twin scroll turbo.

I do wish US got 40d.
