New owner - Paint correction//Ceramic coating

Well I’ve been a long time lurker here and finally 2 weeks ago was able to pick up a well equipped 2016 X5 35i. Already put on joyful 1k miles. Before I go on another road trip this summer, I decided it’s a good time to do a full detail. Got together with a good buddy of mine and 8 hours later this was the result. Full paint correction finished off with a layer of Cquartz on paint, plastics and rims. Paint is soooo smooth and wet looking.

Also last pic is a preview of the next mod

Beautiful. What did you pick her up for? I'm in the market.

Wow, looks great! I wish I have the time (and effort) to do this.

Off topic, how much does it cost for a good paint correction and ceramic coating job cost?

Congrats! Looks great. Also you have a nice friend for giving you a hand. That is a tedious job, I did mine last year so I know from experience lol

Thanks guys, I am actually so grateful for all the time, space, help, knowledge and ofcourse all the products my buddy has provided. When he does his cars alone, which are sedans, he usually makes it a 2 day job. We knocked it out in 8 hours with a few breaks, if it wasn’t too late in the day, would’ve done another ceramic coat in 45-60min.

It really depends on the condition of your paint and how many coats you want to apply. Though from experience, the hard part is not the ceramic coating, it’s the getting the paint to near perfect condition with chemical and mechanical decontamination.
I believe they range from 1-3k

Tedious it is, just when you think you are done with one thing, have to move on to the next and so on.
Do you believe all that work paid off? How’s your cleaning routine now?
How many coats did you apply?

It was my very first time ever doing a paint correction so I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing. It turned out ok, but far from great. I'm actually going to be stripping the cquartz UK off and starting over. I had a few spots that I had to wet sand(first time as well) and didn't get the scratches out completely, so I want to fix it and do it over.
I think the coating helps.

From a fellow mineral white owner, i looked out the window to see if there was any chance mine was as wet as this. Nope. Lol.

I need to do a full correction. I just clayed and did an iCoat ceramic coating in the spring but this really makes me wanna break out the rotary and cutting pads and go to town. But she’s not garage kept...

Great stuff man. Looks amazing. Congrats on the purchase 🍾

Thanks a lot greatly appreciate it.
I wish that wet look stayed longer, but with the dirty NYC streets and rain, car did get a bit dirty, today will see how well/easy it cleans with the ceramic coating.
I also did a second coat on body and wheels and sooner than later want to apply a ceramic top coat for more shine and protection.
