Chicago area, so usually just inches, and if it's a 1 ft plus type of storm, my work situation is flexible and I can stay off the roads.

So this setup won't be to tall?

29" vs 30.7"......I would do the 35 aspect ratio instead and be 0.40" shorter. than stock.

Yeah unfortunately without moving to run flat, can't get the 315 width in anything shorter than 40, which then impacts what can be matched on the front, and they don't offer 325 in the non run flat, at least from what I can find on tirerack.

I see in another thread some guys going with the Yokohama Bluewinters 295/35 (285s are sold out) and 325/30, but I'm concerned that the delta between front and back is too much.

18s?

I know this might get me flamed, but as I live in VT during the winter, I’d really like to get 18” rims on a 2018 x5m. Is that possible? Tire rack says 19, bmwusa.com says 20 or 21. Thanks

Sorry if this is unrelated. What tire pressure are you guys using for the 21''?

I'm at 36 psi cold. Anything less and the outside edges of the fronts start wearing badly.

No , it won't fit.

My 19" winter wheels I had for my previous E70 X5 don't fit because of the front brake caliper being to big.

I didn't try the back ...

The only ones having found a 19"kit working that I know of are these guys

Maybe those OEM F15/custom kits had a special design making it possible to clear the calipers. Otherwise, the minimum is 20".

Others have chime in that the winter kit 298M from the earlier generation in 19" (E70M) didn't clear the calipers.

I have mine set at 38 cold during winter here in CA. I was mad to find out that my dealer had my tires at 36 hot

Hey!

yes we have done several sets on this exact combo. Assuming a 22x10.5 & 22x12 Wheel. Pirelli may have discontinued this size but Vredstein has a nice solution

What size is your set?

JNoSol Those who have done DWS 06's, where did you have them mounted and balanced at? Dealership? Indy? Tire Shop?

Trying to figure out if the dealership will give me trouble for putting a different tire size on the beast.

Thanks JNoSol My dealership seems difficult so hopefully they don't throw a fit about it.

JNoSol What pressure are you running your DWS 06's?

Did you do the stock 20's pressures at 36 all around or did you follow a 50i spec of 33F / 36R?

New wheel and tire questions

Just got some new to me Style 215 rep's for the X5. Got a great deal on them and they came with some new but very cheap tires. Getting some road noise from the cheaper new tires that came with. Any suggestions on replacements down the road? Here's the current setup: Fronts 275/40/20's, Rear 285/35/20's. I know very little about the tire game and am open to suggestions. These new tires are NRF's by the way.

Hi all, I have X5 e70 with 275/40/20 fronts and 315/35/20 rears
Any know if 295/35/21 fronts and 325/30/21 rears would fit? I seen some on eBay I like but not seem if the size will fit
Thanks

No your comparing 20 inch wheels to 21 inch wheels the last number represents the size of the rim

Yes . The ones I'm looking at are 21 inch rims , but wasn't sure if that would fit as have seen 22 inch rims on e70s. So asking if they would fit mine

Oooo okay no they won't work. It will be off by a lot for 21 inch you'll need 285/35/21 325/30/21
