I had this one my 333s, but no issues on my 469s, 375s and 599s. Fingers crossed!

My MY15 X5 wheels were replaced under warranty. Remember BMW has 12 years/unlimited miles on corrosion, but not sure if it applies to wheels.

Just noticed 3 of my wheels today were corroded. I guess I'll ask the dealer to replace them.

I'm in the process now.. I took my car to my dealer and my SA brought it to the shop to inspect and take photos to send to BMWNA to approve the claim.
I'm just waiting on BMWNA's approval and if they deny it then I'll pursue the claim directly with BMWNA further. I'm not sure why your dealer wouldn't work with you since the cost wouldn't come out of their pockets.

Just noticed some corrosion on one of my 599M wheels. The finish on a couple of others looks like it may flake off at some point, so the car is booked in for a couple of weeks time, for the dealer to look at it. They now need to take all 4 wheels off, submit pictures of the front and back of all wheels, then BMW will take it from there.

UPDDATE:

So my service adviser from BMW of Tenafly came back to me saying that BMWNA will only authorize to refinish my wheels... Going to contact BMWNA directly and try to escalate this to get replacements.

Any suggestions?

Any specific reason you don't want them to refinish? I've seen some very good refinishing work that is indistinguishable from original. Also, maybe you can have them customize the refinish to your liking

I had mine replaced under warranty, no problem at all with SA and shop foreman. Style 451 wheel, diamond cut. Warranty was about 2k from ending on 14 x5 with 20 inch staggered.

I feel like if it is refinished then it is basically masking the problem?
I was hoping for a full replacements as others have had.

So, anyone that’s had the wheels replaced, do they replace all 4, even if some aren’t corroded? One new wheel and one used one may look odd, if on the same side, if there’s a slight colour difference.

From what it looks like to me it's caused by poor prep of the surface before clear was added, which allowed water intrusion, lifting the clear. I'd say good prep and refinish wouldn't be a problem.

I hear ya on getting them fully replaced though. That always generally feels like a better solution but who knows, you could have the same issue again with the replacements. Maybe that's why they are suggesting refinish.

If they refinish properly by stripping the entire surface and then re-spraying, then you're better off. If they only do small sections to make it look aesthetically good, then it'll probably corrode again.

Here's a before and after pic of my severely rashed wheel. Not only was I floored at how they were able to level/refinish the face, but the clear on the entire wheel looked fantastic.

Wheels starting to corrode

Hi RichM50D,
My 2015 3.0D M Sport with 20" 469m wheels are also starting to corrode around the centre caps on all 4 wheels, with one obviously already spreading into the actual wheel. The original 3 year warranty expires 29/4/18 plus the COP warranty expires end of May 2018 so should be covered either way.
Would be interested to hear how you get on, am planning to get to local dealer in next couple of weeks.
TIA.
Update
Car went in yesterday for 1st MOT and end of warranty check and also wheel corrosion issue. Came back yesterday and they have been authorised to replace 3 wheels and all centre caps. Said that 4th wheel was ok, but I will check later as I knew that one rear wheel looked ok but thought that there was a very small blister. Collecting car today and will update later. Not bad result as both front wheels had some kerbing rash.
Thinking of having Gators fitted now, anyone had any experience with these on 20" runflats.
