Goodwill is off the table, but my SA will call the factory and see if there is anything they can do.

That part failing after 10,000 easy miles seems bizarre though.
Yeah doesn't make sense that it would fail after so few miles. Definitely has to be a manufacturing issue

Has to be. My SA will notify the factory. I'll report back to everyone once I know more. In the meantime, I get to drive a cute little 330i.

That's great! Seems like they must know something isn't right with them if they are failing that early.

Anyone have their front wishbone repaired under warranty that also had their vehicle lowered with aftermarket springs?

I dropped my minimally with the AC Schnitzer front springs. I have a clunk in my front driver side and the mileage is at 19000.

Curious if anyone had luck getting them covered under warranty or if the dealer said you were responsible for costs. Figure I would get some details before contacting my SA.

There's a sib for it. It should be no problem. Besides. What are you gonna do? replace the springs. If you're that worried then just replace it yourself. I've done it twice now. And did a diy.

i have been experiencing the clunk and squeaking noise as of recently as well and I am lowered on H&R Sport Sport springs for over 2 years now. Never had any issues. reading this thread has been helpful. Service center tightened all bolts but noise still remains. if theres a way to have them replace the wishbone/lower control arm as I am gathering is the common culprit despite being on lowering springs please let me know how to go about it with the dealer. thanks !

It's the lower wishbone control arms. I had to ride along with the BMW shop foreman in order to reproduce the sound. He said it's a known issue with F15/F16's. I hope you still have time before your warranty runs out.

Not sure what you mean by "upright". Why did you have whatever that is replaced?

So narrowing down here- could be the lower control arms (one with the SIB), could be the upper wishbone which sounds like it can bend, or could be the brake caliper housing??

I replaced the thrust arms due to worn bushings and now the front left is creaking- didn’t have this issue before changing them out.

Did you tighten them down to spec? Maybe too loose?

Yup, and dealer re-torqued everything to spec

SA suggests try new pads as mine are getting down (car only 38km) as they still think it's brakes related . I've had a hub, lower control arms, some SB to do with pads moving in calipers - and I checked the torque on everything before it ever went in to the the dealer. He said there's maybe 6 cars at other dealers in southern Australia doing the same thing- all and only 50i's!

Warranty replacement of wishbones

My Dealership replaced both wishbones and track rod ends under warranty after noticing wear in one track rod end during a routine service. My concern is that my 2017 X6 (F16) has only covered 35,000 miles, mostly on A roads and motorways. The Service Team could not give any plausible reason why these components had worn out prematurely.

Has anyone else had issues like this with an X6?

Soooo... 2015 x5 diesel... I have groans when turning sometimes and squeaks over certain bumps. I was told this vehicle does not have power steering resevoir which I thought would be the culprit. This all started at around 72k miles about a week after lowering on H&R Sports and getting all new brakes installed. I have read a few threads and figure to eliminate I will have to get all new control arms and links, maybe even hubs at this point. Theres a lemforder kit on FCP thats about 1k plus a couple hundred for hubs. I dont want to start poking at individual parts since I dont do the work myself.

Anyone order this kit on FCP? Any other updates from members who have had the groan issue when turning.

So including the ones that came on my X5 originally, I am now on my 7th control arm in 72K miles. Yes, you read that right: this vehicle has had SEVEN. Thought I'd show them off!
