I know.. I actually messaged him about it before you. I wanted to make sure that unique would support it before I bought it and then I saw that you scooped it up. At least let us know what you think once you get it installed. Maybe you can finally answer our unanswered questions..

My Kremersino unit should arrive this week, just got notified by Canada Post that it has arrived in Mississauga for customs processing.. I'll know more about any extra charges after that. I did choose ePacket shipping rather than DHL because i've had bad experience with extra charges on Chinese shipments to Canada through DHL.

Oh I've watched that video a couple times already

I wonder if in the F15 there is enough space to install the box near the existing headunit, or whether it still needs to be installed in the passenger footwell...

Alright, I finally had a chance to install the Unique Auto Development CarPlay wireless kit manufactured by IDCORE (costlier version of Joyeauto kit). Installation was super easy. I routed the external mic behind the central display on the left side hidden from view. The USB cable (optional) & wireless antenna (mandatory) were routed through the glove box opening on the upper left side, with no cutting necessary. No problem. I forgot to mention that the steering wheel buttons work for volume +/- and for Siri as well. Long press the 'back' button for 3 secs to get in & out of CarPlay quickly. And with the upcoming iOS 13 overhaul of Apple CarPlay, it's definitely a no brainer. Good luck to you skoold2003 for organizing the GB. It's well worth the effort!

The group buy is $285 for 10 people and $270 for 20 people. I'm not sure if we're at 19 because most haven't responded to confirm that they're in. If you want in we'd be at 4 confirmed.

FYI folks the Joyeauto (and therefore the bimmerretrofit) do actually use the AUX input, it's just that you connect them behind the head unit. I would imagine the aux input in the armrest console stops working.
