Something like this - keep in mind you can chose different material combo (like CF or black etc) and color of them (there are burnt steel blue etc) and they are 3'' inlet and 4'' outlet - so they will fill up your exhaust bumper outlet nicely: https://www.amazon.com/NETAMI-NT-305...=ATVPDKIKX0DER Last edited by DuSh; 10-27-2018 at 07:09 PM.. |

Mines already starting to come off of the rounded tip area. I can start seeing some chrome. Oh well. I'll just clean it up and throw some more coats on.

located in surrey. did my exhaust tips and did a good job with reasonable price. Make sure to ask Jordan, the shop owner, to do it himself. |

Any clue what overall length of the tip I should be looking for? Some say 12" long which seems way to long. Last edited by M302_imola; 10-27-2018 at 10:12 PM.. Reason: question |

This is stock 35i exhaust just for visual representation. You basically just need 1-2'' inches to cover sticking out part of tips and another 3-4'' to cover inside the bumper exhaust opening, I don't think 12'' can even fit in there, 6'' should be enough imho, but it's better to measure with a ruler to be sure: |

-i will block/tape off the area from overspray -wipe with areas i want to paint with isopropyl 70/30 mix -use a self-etching Rust-Oleum primer grey for 2 coats (full coverage) -use VHT high-temp gloss black paint using light coats till it's fully covered -use VHT high-temp gloss clear using 2, full coverage light coats allow for full cure - about 6 hours or so to be safe. |

Hopefully someone can confirm if it's welded or not. Not sure I like the idea of putting a tip over a tip. Of course I could take to a muffler shop and have the stock tip cutoff. I'd obviously rather not go this route.

Here are my lack tips. I used VHT Roll bar and Chassis Gloss Black (part number SP670). Prepped by sanding the chrome tips with fine sand paper to roughen up the surfaCE. Cleaned extensively, then painted 4-5 layers, 10 min in between layers. Dries pretty quickly, cures in a day. I've done several washes and it has not come off at all.
This paint also works well to fill in a small scuff on my black wheel... Also, I debadged and picked up the IND roundel with the black (instead of chrome) base. With the black license plate and tinted windows, I am very happy with the space gray and blacked out items...... |

I'm just wondering for those of you who decided to paint the tips yourselves, how have they been holding up with time. Getting my used muffler and tips next week, debating painting them myself or getting them dipped.
