Wishlist for G05 from G30 Preview

I have been studying the pics and specs for the new G30 sedan and have some impressions on what I would like to see in the G05:

- ACC Stop & Go Standard (and added to X5M!!!)
- Traffic Jam and Lane keeping Assistant
- Fancy key fob and self parking
- Interior quality and general aesthetics
- Exterior general aesthetics - NO Hockey (hokey) stick please!!!
- Will there be a new V8??

Curious what others like/dislike about the G30 and want to see in the G05.

All the series are getting bigger, longer, and wider...
In terms of size the 3 series look like the 5 series and the 5 series turned into the 7 series. The F15 X5 is also bigger than the E70 X5.
I wish they'd stop making cars bigger.

If they do not make cars bigger, then they cannot over-saturate/dilute their market with unneeded additions to the family. - He said in jest

I personally like the size of the F15 and G30. I do not think we necessarily need a G07 and F20/F21.

I like having 360° view with subtle alerts indicating something is in my blind spot. I do not need an LCD key or self-parking vehicle.

EDIT: Two features I want are the ability to see destination pictures in real time without stopping vehicle (eg, Google Street View like in Audi) as well as have both equalizer presets and customized settings to easily be able to toggle. For the ladder, I do not need 20 different music styles, but a few would be nice so that I can best enjoy a handle of music genres & talk radio.

I self park all the time. From what I have seen, it takes four times the amount of time for the car to do it for the driver.

Car parking itself... Agreed no one really needs it, but it provides flexibility in tight spaces. Of course. most of us try to avoid those at all costs with our precious machines. I just like the technology.

I got the ACC with stop and go on my F15, and that feature has been a godsend for my commute. Its funny - when I feel like driving I want the X5 to be a badass performance machine with me in total control. But when I don't feel like driving, I really appreciate the tech like ACC, etc.

You are probably right, but it is frustrating that the X5 being the (current) flagship SUV does not get flagship technology. And the US version lags behind ROW X5 versions in a lot of features (Traffic Jam Assistant for one).

Probably the next gen x5 will have it once the x7 is released with it first.

More comfortable seat bottom.
Bring back traditional hydraulic steering.
Better ventilation and air flow for the seating.
Higher quality Windshield glass & heated option.
Higher quality plastic and fittings in the cargo area along with insulation.
Streamline iDrive and not bury simply features under several layers of menus.
Louder exhaust with M-Sport package 50i along with broader performance parts catalog.

That won't ever happen.

EPAS is here to stay (sadly, but there's just no point wishing/hoping for hydraulic steering to make a return to mainstream manufacture as it's not going to happen)

When people say "a better V8," what exactly do they mean? More power or something else?

For me, yes. More HP and Torque and a wider rpm range of max torque. Just poking around it looks like the N63TU2 has the same HP and Torque, but max torque is developed at 1800 rpm vs. the current 2000 rpm. That could help some in seat of the pants feeling.

I have not had any problems thus far with my N63TU (about 30,000 miles on it). It seems to be much more solid than the previous N63 variant.

G01 might be the goldilocks SAV for you. Should be just a hair smaller than the E70.
