Now I need to upgrade my rear calipers to either the 5.0i rear or find a pair of x5m rear to match the front.

I had a set of 50I rear caliper if you are interested. Good condition in original paint

Pretty sure 50i calipers are just raw aluminum. At least given what they looked like before and after I wheel grinder them before painting black. Didn't appear like a "paint" or "coating" was coming off. Just dirt.

Anyone elect to change Pads on this upgrade to Brembo calipers? I would like to go ceramics rather than the dusty semi-metallic but am having a tough time finding E70 X5M brake pads for the fronts in the brands I know (Akebono, Hawk,Etc.). Any ideas?

Pretty sure Dush went with powerstop pads but haven't seen him report back on them.

I when with Brembo ceramic pads on eBay and it came with brake sensor wire for about $80

Alternatively you can find good brake pads on rockauto just make sure it says Front M, pads looks square in shape

Any feedback on the pads? Feel, noise, dust? I was planning on going with Powerstop Euro Ceramics at this point based on availability and cost. The Brembo ceramics may be worth considering tho.

Yep. Powerstop (Z23-1429) from rockauto - very cheap like $36 for a pair. They are ceramic and dust free so far! Noise is also gone, except in the morning it squeals once during first application of brakes, but never after.
Overall I'm happy compared to oem M pads - they were very dusty and noisy.

Bmw 612 or reps (basically X5M oem) and helllll no lol. Those are Michelin super sports brother. Wouldn't touch them with snow.

Correct, they're oem X5M wheels on MPSS. Perfect for sledding in the snow!

OK dumb question, but you would just need to buy Snow tires that can fit on those rims and be fine? Not looking to change rims as well each year....

Not many snow tire options at 21". Even the oem bmw winter package is 20" but "theoretically" yes.

Hi guys, I can get around a car fairly well but brakes have always been a foreign concept to me. If I am wanting to do these upgrades on my 2015 s35i which does have the 20s, can anyone let me know what I need to look for on ebay? Ideally I would like to do front and rear.

I have a full set of 50i brakes you can upgrade to. If you're looking to upgrade to the X5M brakes, everything you need is on the first or second page of this thread.

Slight thread derail but yes. Nokian R3 SUVs in 295/35/21 on all four corners fit the 612M just fine. Your rims will see more wear and tear getting tires swapped twice a year though.

Back to the Brembos.
