2014 X5 Overheating (New Tstat and Wpump)

I have a 2014 X5 35ix with 103k on it.
It started doing this weird fan revving thing about 2 months ago so based on my internet search I thought it was the Waterpump.

I bought a water pump and Tstat from FCPEuro and installed them.

After installing the revving fan went away but then the car began to overheat. I did the self-purge multiple times so I believe there is no air in system. I can also see the waterpump moving coolant.

It would overheat anytime the heat was off in the car.

Brought it to my local shop and they thought that the T-stat was no good even though it was brand new because it was not BMW original.

Replaced that last night with a BMW OE Tstat and it still overheats.

Not sure what else I can do at this point. If I keep the heat on it will not overheat. Suggestions? I am open to all suggestions.

Did you try to scan for error codes or error messages? How do you determine that the car overheats and how do you measure coolant temperature? It is possible that you have a bad temperature sensor.

I did scan. I didn't get any codes.
The only thing I got was the warning message on the screen. (Orange first then red)
I would find it weird that the new parts would be trash. I already yanked out the 1st tstat from FCPEuro and replaced with a BMW one to make sure that wasnt the issue.

I can go scan it again.

Are you certain that you purged all the air from the system?

I seem to recall you can run a bleed process from the driver's seat without a scan tool.

Yes sir. I have run it about 6 times.
IT is a real head scratcher.

I am going to go scan it again and see if any codes are hiding in their.

What are you scanning with?

ISTA+ or bust IMO.

Sounds like the fan switch or fan is bad, usually when the ac is on the radiator fan kicks on. Your fan may not be kicking on.

Also did you bleed it with the heater set to high, that will bleed air out of the heater core.

Recheck the water pump, it is electric, you should hear it running and your reservoir should become slightly pressurized from it running.

There is a process to kick on the electric pump without the engine starting.
