20" tire options?

So, I have the 20" setup on my F85, and now that it is time for new tires it appears that the Pirelli P-Zeros are my only option. I don't love the ride of the P-Zeros, the fact that my current set only lasted 10k miles, or that there are limited (no) winter tires in the OEM size.

Does anyone have recommendations for other tires, or if not then for good 21" rims that won't break the bank (my local BMW wants $4,500 for OEM 21"s).

Thanks!

I went with DWS06s and couldn't be happier. They've been discussed at length in other threads.

Yes, but they don't make the 325/35r20 in the DWS.

The 315s (275 up front) fit fine and are well within spec for the wheel. It's actually the standard size on F15s with the the optional 20" staggered set up. Here are mine after install.

Thanks. Have you noticed any impact on performance? I'm very hesitant to go out of the original engineer's specifications for a high end performance vehicle, especially with plenty of opportunities to push it to the limit on mountain passes near home.

If anything it a better ride. Above 8/10ths the fact that the DWS are a hi-po all-season and not a summer tire will show...but that's composition related, not size. If anything the Pirelli runs narrow and the Conti a bit wide so it's not obvious to me that that you've really lost the entire centimeter of width.

As I said before, the tire is well within spec for the wheel and the size is standard on 50i Msport with 20".

If you want to stick with BMWs preferred option you're stuck with the Pirellis.

So my first set made it to 10K. I've got the BWM winter package that will be put on soon, but when I return to the summer setup I'll need new. I'm looking at the Continental Extreme Contact Sport vs Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (275/40-20 and 315/35-20). Your input is appreciated.

I purchased 20" staggered Michelin pilot sport a/s 3 n-specs and sent to my ordering dealer for my X5 on order. I hope I can take delivery of my new x5, with the tires swapped out, next week as the X5 was in the finishing build phase. I had the conti's also and liked them. Just offering up the michelins as another all season option but also want to let you know I will be selling the factory summer Dunlop's that come on the 20" 461 wheel option on the F15's. they will be dealer take offs with no road miles.
