I only had the red one for a bit before selling it to my dad for this one. Loved every second of it (still do, still have it) even though it's a baby 318 that everyone poked fun at at the meets and on r3v (e30 forum).

The first car I owned was a 1959 Morris Minor. Paid $250 in 1969. Only way the car went faster than 60mph is if you drove it off a cliff. Fond memories only - I loved it.

The first new vehicle, as compared with preowned, I had was a 1989 F-150 XLT Lariat.
Standard cab, black/grey metallic/black, 2WD, 300ci inline 6 cylinder, manual 5 speed, 6250lb GVW package, long bed, twin fuel tanks, sliding rear window, carpet, power windows and locks and chrome step bumper. Ran it for 14 years and 234k miles. It got 15-17mpg from the day it was new until it was carried away on a flatbed. It ran like a champ until the end when I didn’t have the time (job, 2 young kids) to keep up with the maintenance. Replaced with a 1995 Mazda Miata MX-5. My first car was a new 1994 Honda Civic DX. No air, now power anything. Did not even come with a radio. Just a shade over 100 HP, but drove it like it had 300.
Had a few mods including (and I hate to admit) a straight 2.5 inch pipe/muffler. I got a “fix it” ticket for excessive noice after about a year. Fixed it and put it right back on a week later. Man I loved that car. My first year of college, I would find the best parking spot and wipe it down every day. I can only imagine the swirl marks I created rubbing tiny rocks all over the paint. Had it for 7 years and a little over 100k miles with not one issue. |

I'm going to cheat a little bit here. Technically, my first car was given to me by my father's friend. It was a tan 1987 Subaru GL with a transmission on its way out.
I beat the crap out of that car and so it wasn't long for this world. The first car I actually purchased was what got me into BMW's in the first place...a 1990 BMW 325i (E30): picture was taken sometime in late 2001, I believe...before smart phones were a thing, hence one of the only photos I have of the car

First car I ever bought was an E30 but I never really got to drive it. I still have the car but only use it occasionally.
First car that ended up being "mine" was an e90 328i with no options except for wheels and automatic transmission. Loved that car until my parents loved it more...I ended up driving a Cayenne V6...hated that car. I don't know what Porsche was thinking creating that fiasco. First car that actually became mine is my 135is. I think I love this car too much. |

My first car was a 99 Saab 9-3 (was in my fathers name) that I rebuilt the motor and flipped for cash to buy my first actual car.

I learnt to drive in 1994 Holden Commodore Station Wagon
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_Commodore_(VR) The first car I bought with my own money was a 2013 base Mitsubishi Lancer. Did not like it at all (CVT) but it was my first car. Traded it 18 months later for a Mazda 3 2.5 SP25 which I kept for 4.5 years. Traded the Mazda for a g20 330i. |
