3rd Row Seat Climate Control

Hey folks, had an F15 5 years or so ago. Looking to grab another one. Question, one of my only complaints from back in the day was how strong the climate control system was (it did not blow cold/hot air hard enough, even with all the knobs and dials setup perfect). Does anyone know, if you order the 3rd row seat option, does that give the system more power? Or does it just add that extra vent in the 3rd row?

I think the more important question may be 'does the F15 you're considering buying have the rear seat (2nd row) climate controls or just a plain output from the front control'? The 3rd row blower is built into the seat itself and works independently from the 1st and 2nd row so I don't think it will change anything up front. I rarely have the blower on anything but #2 or #3 daily…perhaps close to full temporarily in winter or to cool it down if it was sitting hot in the sun. Mine's a 2015 35d M Sport with 3rd row.

Definitely has 4 zone climate control. I'm basically pulling the trigger today unless the car is trashed. Managing my expectations for a 2015 with 65k miles. Pretty pumped this car can be had for 30k compared to what else is on the market right now.

Best of luck - mine's a '15 with 85k miles and it drives like new...they are really solidly built but do require some tlc to keep them that way.

I think it makes it worse. My first F15 was not third row and that is the only complaint I have about the F15. I've brought it to the dealer several times and they say it's "normal". That was a 2014 model. I then purchased a 2015 N57 with third row. It diverts more air around the cabin but doesn't blow hard enough. You have to disable rear air in iDrive to make it tolerable at max AC. I then traded my 2014 for a 2017 N55 with third row and the new refrigerant R1234yf. Still have complaints about it. Every time I bring it up to the dealer it's always acting as it should. No complaints about it with my F31 or both my E39. It's really sad especially living in a hotter climate.

I own a 2017 X5 with the 3rd seat option, the vents on the 3rd seat are not connected to the central climate control system, they just blow ambiant air.
