Hey guys,

Thought I'd mention it here in case anyone may have received similar message. I received a PM from user Mikez4m last night quoting a FS list of another seller and asking me where I'm located. I replied to the PM stating I'm not the seller of the list, and Mikez4m replied he is selling and would ship promptly next day. With limited posts on here, seems questionable.

If I'm wrong, I'm happy to correct my post here. @Mods please review.

I also had a user who goes by F82kkpowers try to scam me on a front lip. Same story, asked me my location and thay he would ship the same day.

Was it Tberry_ or Jberry_ ? I was contacted via PM by the latter, unsolicited, after I mentioned I was interested in some roof rack cross bars, but our communication ended quickly after I said I only wanted a local in-person transaction.

I got one too, I was writing with someone about downpipes, someone else replied to me and asked me to call or text them. I though it was the guy I was originally talking to and texted. Then I realized what was going on and just blocked…

What's a proper way of selling, shipping and making sure the payment comes in? Let's say I sell something and have to ship it, buyer has to zelle me before I ship or after? What's stopping the buyer from cancelling that transaction?

They pay before. Most use PayPal goods and services. It costs about 3% but there are protections.

Does Layp22 possibly fall under this category? I received a message responding to a "WTB" -- subject "where are you located?" and the message was simply to text a phone number. Just became a member in January 2022. Looks like prior posts include the "I have this and can ship today, text me" in response to classified posts.

These scammers are using WTB threads to reach out to potential victims. I'd ignore any new members sending PMs regarding your WTB threads.

This same person just tried to scam me. Sent me a message saying he had a Vorsteiner lip for sale. Similar message "$350 shipped, where are you located?" including some fuzzy photos that are from a different post from a different user on this forum. Pieces of shit...

@moderators (if there are any??) This user Layp22 has 16,000 rep. But only 10 posts... This seems like some sort of manipulation of data in order to seem like a legit user...
